Mark Kotsay will retire at the end of the season.
"I know this is a good time physically and mentally for me to retire ... these are my last games as a player," Kotsay said.
The 37-year-old Kotsay is completing his 17th Major League season.
Kotsay owns a career batting average of .276 with 1,781 hits, 127 home runs and 720 RBIs.
