Marcus Landry Officially a Laker

Post#1 » by ratra_1211 » Tue Sep 17, 2013 1:08 am

Marcus Landry signed with the Lakers

As expected, the Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent Marcus Landry, according to a Lakers press release. Landry’s deal is expected to be a partially guaranteed contract. Much like Xavier Henry and Shawne Williams, Marcus Landry is expected to be invited to camp, but will have to work through training camp and pre-season to make the Opening Night roster.

UPDATE: According to Serena Winters, the Landry contract will be a one-year, make good deal.

Kevin Ding thinks he has a good chance of making the roster if kelly's foot forces the lakers to part ways with him.

Let's give him a Magic Johnson contract 20 years $1million per year

You guys really believe that Marcus Landry is worse than Carl Landry? Looks like some guys are going to change their tune when the season starts.

My only hope is if he makes the team, he neutralizes his brother. In the same way Pau does to Mark.

are you serious man? marcus landry cant even get a bench role in the league and i doubt he ever plays for us. i mean he got waived by a team in europe and then couldnt find another team to play for. meanwhile carl is consistently putting up a very efficient 11/6, coming off the bench for some pretty decent teams. Carl Landry is a solid backup big man, Marcus Landry probably wont ever play meaningful minutes in the NBA.

Carl just got a full MLE contract from the Kings and I'd have bit his hand off if he offered to be our starting PF next season. This comparison to his brother is fairly stupid.

Naw man, in your effort to be the self-appointed "Voice of Reason" in this thread, you misread my post.

It's a general response to people talking about these rookies/scrubs we're signing and saying "who?"

IMO, the Lakers need to train their fan base to get used to these no-name guys, because with the new CBA, it is what it is. And, really, you never know until it's all said and done.

So yeah, who cares what a guy's name is as long as he can perform. If he can't perform, then cool, he won't make the team.

Happy somebody actually "Get's it!" Man I swear if were not touting an NBA2k13 allstar starting lineup its doomsday smh. Like you were saying if he doesn't pan out he wont make the team, if the F.O. and coaching staff feels he can help and is ready he will make it. People only want household names on their roster and that isnt realistic

i dont think you get it. every laker fan thinks that random scrubs we sign are going to turn around and become gods and fulfill their potential. just look at the xavier henry thread, its annoying to read.

bad players arent going to all of a sudden become good becuase they play for us, thats the only point ive ever tried to make.

Ariza, Shannon Brown, Jordan Hill, and even Lamar Odom were all considered bad players before they came to the Lakers....Just saying...

everyone hated on lamar and said he was a **** second option (which is kind of true) until pau came along.

i think people only liked shannon cuz he was exciting, he wasnt actually a good player, hence why people werent mad when he left.

ariza was pretty awesome and im sad we didnt keep him. thats the only example i agree with.

jordan hill was considered a bust for where he was drafted, which is still true to this day. he showed glimpses of being a real solid back up big man, but remember it was for 29 games. kind of a small sample size.
