"He's progressing well and has met all the targets and milestones of his rehab, and we expect him to make a full recovery," Lakers spokesman John Black told The Times on Monday. "One of the key issues is to make sure he builds up strength and endurance not only in his Achilles but also in his legs, knees, back and core."

"We're going to avoid giving a target return date until he's doing full weight-bearing running and on-court basketball activities, at the earliest," Black said.

No need to rush back Bean, just get back when your as close to 100% as you'll be.

Kobe should just David Robinson this season honestly, but regtitly to admit as in Kobe's own words this might be a "wasted season".

Well, in fairness D.Rob was actually hurt. And by the time he might have been able to come back it was all too late to matter. That said, I completely agree. They should sit Kobe as long as possible, and tank the season.

Understandable....he did get back to basketball activity just last month. It would have been far fetched to get game ready in 1.5 months

I think even the RS opener is in doubt at this point but I expect him to miss 2 weeks of action at most

Kobe "probably" miss? So there's the implying it is possible he can play preseason? He better not. This is a serious injury not to take likely in recovery. You don't want him going out and full on pressure and tear it again.
Take time. No need to rush , doing that is more pride ego than anything. Not worth it. Sit out and reassess in December. Don't speculate now.
Kobe Bryant forever
GO LAKERS
8-)
I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

Some of the comments on this topic on the WT is beyond idiotic. Because a report comes out saying that Kobe wont be ready by preseason probably (let alone before the full projected December) people wanna say he's fake and full of crap. The thought process of people who say their hoop fans amaze me at times smh

resting kobe for this whole year might actually extend his career by another 2-3 seasons in the long run

the problem with kobe sitting out the whole season is nash/gasol is still good enough to get you enough wins to be outside of the top 5-10 picks. were in a really **** position where we cant tank unless we get rid of pau/nash and also arent good enough to make any noise in the playoffs barring miracles. thankfully we should only have to endure a few seasons of mediocrity before we can go after some free agents.

or we could all just become warrior fans.
