Trade #51

After much deliberation, the Hawks FINALLY become relevant in the east getting a top PG in Deron. The price was steep but we feel we can use our remaining pieces to build some talent.

ATL Out:
Jeff Teague $8,000,000
Nikola Pekovic $12,100,000
2015 1st (Atlanta)
2015 1st (Washington)
2 Mil Cash

TOTAL: $20,100,00

FOR

BKN Out:
Deron Williams $18,466,130
Mirza Teletovic $3,229,050

TOTAL: $21,695,180

BKN is over the cap so they send out more than they receive. Good dealings buddy, finally got a deal.

Nets confirm. It was a tough call, but Nets felt that they got great value in return for a star PG with a lot of mileage. Deron has definitely shown the effects of a 9 year career averaging 35MPG with a "physical" style of play. Of greater concern for Jason Kidd - like Jerry Sloan before him - was the prima dona factor. KG and Pierce left that in Boston (Rondo) and have a narrow window of success. Kidd could not depend on Deron "getting his" while those consumate team players waited their turn. Jeff Teagues is one of the litany of great PGs from Wake Forest - who will look to facilitate first, but can break his man down with a nice mid range and P&R game. He also brings it at the defensive end where Deron has "relaxed" - to put it mildly. Adding a soon to be All Star Center was a deal the Nets could not refuse.

Cap savings - a dominent center - future picks and tax cash - made working with the Hawks throughout the negotiations a great experience.

Atlanta making some more Moves:

ATL Out:
Deron Williams $18,466,130
Lou Williams $5,225,000
1 Mil cash
Total: $23,691,130

INDY Out:
Rajon Rondo $11,954,545
Danny Granger $14,021,788
Total: $25,976,333

I prefer Rondo to Deron to begin with so it works in that sense. Also get a good asset in Granger who gives me options and improves my starting lineup.Think this works for both of us. Good dealings Ness.

Maybe I overpayed a little here...
But Deron... When on his game, is the second best PG in the league behind Paul. Plus Granger and Rondo are coming off of huge injuries. Plus Lou Will is a great 6th man. Plus a mil cash. Plus I like trading with my "rival"... Birdman

Wizards send:
Brook Lopez - $14,693,906
Greg Monroe - $4,086,454
2014 1st
= $18,780,360

Hornets send:
Paul Millsap - $9,500,000
Anthony Davis - $5,375,760
=$14,875,760 x 1.50 = $22,313,640

While this may look like an overpay, Brook Lopez nor Greg Monroe are going to transcend your organization into a complete and consistent contender. Anthony Davis, should he reach his ceiling is that guy and when paired with Russell Westbrook, we may have the new age Kobe and Shaq in the making. Paul Millsap is a heck of a defender who is on a great deal given his production. I am definitely giving up a ton of value here but in the end this trade fits my direction with the Wizards and frankly, in 5 years, I'm not sure I lost any talent.

Accepted. You can't knock down an offer like this. Yeah I give up Davis but look what I get back and millsap isn't that good of a defender either. I also pick up a first which will be pretty late I'm guessing.

Boston accepts. I love the fit of Chandler with my wings, Len was the 5th pick in the draft and I'm not sold that Luis Scola (at least for my team) is all that big of a downgrade, especially since he will spread the floor for Bynum. If I told you all that I would trade Gerald Wallace and Kelly Olynyk for this package, I don't think anyone would believe it, but that is what has happened.

Trade 59

GILBERT EXACTS REVENGE - SENDS KING PACKING

When Lebron refused to extend his PO contract - Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert announced his Decision
CLE sends Lebron James (19,067,500), Al Harrington (884,293), Tyler Zeller (1,633,440) and Matt Delavedova (490,000) = 22,076,314; to
IND for Roy Hibbert (14,283,844), Paul George (3,282,003), Solomon Hill (1,246,680) & Patty Mills (1,133,950) = 19,946,477

Finally - the Chant - Lebron's gonna leave will stop ringing in the Cavs Arena. Hate to move the best player in the game - but it is a trade game. Oh yeeh, we'll miss the other guys too. While it's a tough deal - Indiana made it leads painful with an All Star Center and an emerging Super Star in Paul George, plus a nice rookie prospect in Solomon Hill and a fan favorite in Aussie Patty Mills - who has thrived at all his stops. Can't say it was not a painful experience, and Madness was his usual bulldog self, but the final deal makes the Cavs a long term contender in the East. Well played - MADness!
