Week 2: Washington at Green Bay (Sun @ 1pm)

Post#1 » by LyricalRico » Thu Sep 12, 2013 2:47 pm

Image Image

WHO: Skins vs Packers
WHEN: September 15th, 1 pm
WHERE: Lambeau Field

Big Questions:

Was the offense able to shake off all of the rust during the Philly loss?
Can the Washington secondary consistently make tackles?
How will Green Bay already facing Colin Kaepernick impact the game?

Discuss!

Packers defense already talking about RG3:

“We have a lot of respect for his ability,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday. “Whether we feel he’s as mobile, that’s really with the schemes and really the mindset going into the game that is applied during the course of the week.”

The Packers spent a good portion of their offseason preparing to face mobile, read-option quarterbacks the first two weeks. In that regard, they held up San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick in Week 1, but they lost the opener because Kaepernick threw for 412 yards. Griffin threw for 329 yards against the Eagles.

“Kaepernick and RG III are about the same,” Packers defensive end C.J. Wilson said. “We know RG III is still coming off an injury on his leg, so I don’t think he’s going to be too mobile like he used to be in the past. But he makes the throws like Kaepernick.”

Hopefully this doesn't mean more hits out of bounds.

Game day article is up. Although I think they'll play better, I couldn't pick the Skins to win.

Kevin Durant representing at the Skins/Packers game.

And it looks like the Bowie Boys Club is representing on defense.

This is a first half mess

I really don't know what to say other than the fact that the defense is worse than last year and we added pieces and got Orakpo back.

Next week against Detroit becomes a must win at this point. And the Raiders don't look shabby. In my head I thought this was a 10 win team, but it wouldn't have surprised me to see them go anywhere from 8-8 to 10-6. We look horrible, and the only positive I see is that it seems like half the NFL is 1-1 so 0-2 isn't THAT bad right now.

Agree on both points. Being 0-2 isn't a terrible spot due to the apparent state of the NFC East this year BUT they absolutely cannot go 0-3 IMO.

Yeah if they go 0-3, season's done in my view. The schedule is brutal.

Huge RG3 fan here, but I hate to say it your season is over. RG3 is damaged goods. Cousins would be your best option to end up 8-8, but your schedule is really difficult.

I'm not as concerned about Griffin physically since he's likely to improve physically (he's still only 8 months removed from reconstructive knee surgery). What bothers me is that they have basically put him in charge and are now held hostage to having to play him.

Griffin clearly not ready to play and Cousins gives them the best chance to win at the moment, but they can't play Cousins because they have let RG3 dictate every aspect of this process and back them into a corner with the "All In for Week 1" stuff. That dynamic between Shanahan and Griffin is what scares me the most because I'm not convinced that RG3 can be trusted with that kind of power.

RG3 will improve, but he will never get back all his speed. He will have to wear a brace possible for the rest of his career. He never should have been on the field in playoffs. Thank your coach or owner for damaging one of the most dynamic players I seen in years. 0-2 start is tough to recover from in the NFL. If you lose against the Lions & keep playing RG3 time for a new coach.
