Duke Grad!!

Italy is making some really tough shots to keep this close.

D-Mo is still too sloppy for this level

Whoa did they just call a travel on that drive? Looked like perfect footwork!

EDIT: Jonas is good at altering shots but he has to get his man to man figured out. He'll be solid once he does. The pick and roll has also been annoying but I'm not sure if that's more of a team issue than an individual issue.

Coach id following Casey philosophy. I know JV and D-Mo struggles defensing perimeter, but damn, they at least could try to force the match up. They just matching up to DaTome, Gentile.

I cringe when D-Mo is in during these intense games. He gives sloppy handoff passes, has butterfingers and tends to foul a lot

Bargs would've slowed down Italy's offense considerably. They look good running and gunning and I can't believe Italy is only down 1. They've made so many tough shots against a good defense. Andrea's style of play would drain the pace of the game.

I dont like D-Mo, not gonna argue with that. But my point is, they only allow to have 1 true bigman right there, on Cusin. They just trying to match up yo Italy's 4 wing lineup. Kleiza played over 18 minutes...

They should force too bigmen and go to them on O. Maybe it would force Italy to take out of their main scorers out the game. Now, Lithuanian coach just straight up allows Italy to dictate the lineups.

Right now we have a team with huge size disadvantage, but they are allowed to actually turn it into advantage. Casey ball 101.

The thing is I wouldn't trust young bigs to take advantage of mismatches like that.. they more likely to bulldoze the defender and turnover the ball than they are to actually muscle them patiently for an easy bucket, or pass it out when the defense overreacts.

Lithuania did well by going inside early. I agree that they overplayed Kleiza. He was hot garbage by the end of the 2nd quarter.

I'd like to see JV and Lav play together. Not sure if the coach is wiling to experiment at this stage though. I can see one team go on a run and the game would be sealed. Risky if you haven't tried this earlier in the tournament.

JV and D-Mo played together before but mostly against teams of Latvia's level.

Doesn't have to be young guys. Could Be Jonas and D. Lavrinovic. I want to see tham at least try it, an underdog team with disadvantages should not dictate the lineups. Lithuanian's aren't even trying to use their big guns.

You must be watching some different game... Italian defense makes it impossible to play the youngsters that way.

Yea that makes sense. Bargs is such a black hole. How's JoVa doing?
