Nenad Krstic?
What's his deal? Does he suck after his injury? What are you looking to offer him? What would it take for you guys not to match?
I really like 1840s merchant vessels. Basketball on the other hand, I can take it or leave it...

Re: Nenad Krstic?
He sucked after his injury. But I think he will rebound... To end the season Krstic but together a decent run showing a lot of flashes of his old self... As for what it would take for the Nets not to match...
Probably anything... The Nets like Krstic but I'm just not sure if there's room for him anymore. I think ideally the Nets would like for Krstic to sign the qualifying offer or give him a two year deal (with a team option for a third?) but neither one of those seems that likely to happen...

His injury was MAJOR, one of those, it takes 18-24 months, and having to relearn much of the game. His level of play has been at best at that of his rookie year.
I like him, but I think he should go to Europe a year for rehab/recovery/play, and when he can dominate, come back to the NBA. And he'll stll be our RFA,with much better value.
We might see more out of him in the olympic qualifiers, or not. He might even be playing without a contract

That only reason I'm against him going to Europe is that we get NOTHING in return if he goes there. I'd rather keep him in the NBA and get a player back for him if we was gonna bolt. I personally think he should take the Qualifying offer or get him to a team he could be useful with. A S&T out to LA if they miss out on Okafor and Josh Smith I feel is a possibility with us hopefully grabbing Mobley.

While this is true, if say Krstic was to go back to Europe for a year (to build up his value) and then return to the US, the Nets would still own his rights.
WASHINGTON -- Dee Brown was signed to an offer sheet Thursday by the Washington Wizards after spending last season in Turkey.
The Utah Jazz, who retained Brown's NBA rights while he was overseas, have seven days to match the offer.

A year in Europe might be the best for all involved here. Krstic will get more PT overseas than he would here in an effort to help rebuild his market value (and in turn his trade value).
For the Nets, it would give them another year to evaluate their big man situation and push off the need to consolidate the talent up front. It also would free up $2.7 million in salary and a roster spot, which could be especially helpful if Carter is dumped.
Also, nothing against Mobley, but considering the money he's making over the next 2 seasons, I'd rather risk Krstic deciding to stay in Europe permanently and lose him for nothing rather than pay Mobley $18.4 million.

Eh I can see your point. Mobley fills a need on our roster plus comes off the books at the right time. But I agree that's a little steep.

Before news of the Najera contract, I would have said, if you wanted a SG that badly you could sign someone for 2 years even if it meant massively overpaying in terms of money per year (see Knicks and Duhon).

You can never have enough NADS!
If there's anyone who knows what NADS can do, its Coach Kidd!
