Nice job, thanks for taking care of that!

Regarding C.J. McCollum: JFrost has him. It appears Ray McCollum is currently on his roster. Easy mix-up. I believe the ESPN announcers made the same mistake during the live draft in June.

I know better than to draft a zard. I'm so happy to have the first season ending injury.

That might help me with my 14th man, Al Harrington.

Yes apparently Seraphin was a filler-backup with no upside after all.

Okafor out helps Seraphin a great deal, but Seraphin isn't on my team. :D

he said that because he has him on his team. and because fran said that Seraphin wasn't a good pick.
Okafor being out of course helps Seraphin but it doesn't change the fact that he was just an ok pick at the time.

"At the time" is irrelevant and it's just absurdly short-sighted to not foresee Seraphin -playing behind Nene and Okafor, each of whom played only 100 games last 2 seasons- would not be a candidate to receive extended minutes.

And yes, Seraphin was "just an ok pick" at 232 because there were still about 30 other starters undrafted in the pool.

Seraphin was an amazing pick.
Just look at his starting numbers.

That late in the draft. Deep bench players with those starting numbers cant be discounted

Had Seraphin last year. He was awesome when he started.

Haven't had time to do write ups, but with the rosters now in Yahoo, I imported the league over to my BBM account and used it's projections and League Ranking tool using per game w/ replacement player values (so it accounts for players missing games). The rankings (roto style) came out as:

Nice of you to paste it here. And it's always encouraging to see your team rated high. I never had a bbm account, are their projections reliable?

It's been a while since I had access to see their projections, but to my memory, they were very conservative. They project numbers to be very similar from the year before. For example, my team has guys like Evan Fournier, Brandon Rush, Psyho T, and John Henson who should do several notches better than they did last year. I think for teams like mine, this is a worst-case scenario (barring injuries).

I don't think that is the situation. Because I have many guys like what you describe and my team is up there: Rose (DNP), Kanter(237), Butler(136), Olynyk (DNP), Moultrie(291), Gordon(246), Blair(274). So half my team literally sucked last year.

if they had conservative projections, my team would have been at the bottom.

I believe Matt Buser drives most of the projections since he joined up with BBM last year, so they aren't like they were before. There's definite consideration made to playing time combined with past per minute production. There are projections I disagree with but when the projections in general are better than others I've seen, with some biases attributable to Matt's preferences - look at BBM's depth charts in some cases.

Rush is rated 134, but Fournier, Hansbrough, and Henson are rated 230, 247, and 193, respectively. I think Hansbrough is rated right. And Henson is given 21 mpg which is reasonable as is the ranking for that kind of minutes. I disagree with their ranking of Fournier, because it's based on 16 mpg. He should be up around 20-22 mpg, but it's somewhat understandable to lower the minutes expectations considering Foye is considered the favorite to start right now, and Fournier failed to make the French national team for Eurobasket.

Henson's Dwight-like ft% really puts a cap on his ranking projection. I expect him to average 8/7 with a block and 50%+ from the field but I also expect 55% from the line. His ft% has been a big issue for him since his college days.
