That 13 mil/yr steal for Josh Smith is looking even better than it already was...

George: 17.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists on 42% FG = 18 mil/yr

Smith: 17.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists on 47% FG = 13 mil/yr

Smith was far a steal, and has hit his peak as a player. At least George has plenty of room for growth.

Why should Hibbert be mad? He got already got his payday.

...because he was THE man that put Miami and the other teams in a terrible situation. His contract is 60million on 4 years. How can you give the biggest contract of your team to the man who isn't the main player?

Hibbert got a max contract that he was eligible for. He didn't qualify for the higher max that George can get with an all-NBA finish this year. Nothing to complain about. Hibbert got the max, too.

One or the other is gone. Not necessarily both. Indy can still offer either up to almost $7 or $8m without hitting the luxury tax. Then, we have more salary relief the following year. It's relatively balanced, but he's, tight. However, not having a Perkins-like anchor on the books is saving us so far as all our salaried guys produce well for us.

No way he's worth 90M. Yes, he played LeBron great, but so did Leonard in the finals. PG has to be more of an offensive threat. 41% shooting is not going to cut it.

Who do the Pacers think he is? Michael Jordan?

He isn't even that much better than Kawhi Leonard or Batum...lol.

Pacers ready to crank out that treadmill.

He was 19 6 5 on 47/44 in the ecf and his reg season stats look worse than they should due to his terrible 1st month. Afterwards he was 19 8 4 on above 54% ts and isn't near his peak.

Paul George only had one month of shooting above 44 percent. His stats suck because he sucks at offense as the focal point, he doesn't have any redeeming quality about his offensive game.

Paul George is a garbage offensive player, he got high Assist to TO ratio, his offense is inefficient, he doesn't have the handles to break anybody down, he's pretty much just a 3 point chucker.

He needs a Jordan so he can be Pippen and George can play D and Spot Up 3 so he won't have those anemic 1 for 10 performances because he can't do anything else besides shoot the 3.

And I doubt he gonna turn into some type of Superstar scorer, this is it for George, he doesn't have the handles to be a Star Offensive player.

He led them to the conference finals and was a game away from the finals. He gets alot of credit for that and he did go toe to toe with Lebron.

my main qualm with this contract(if its signed) is that the pacers seem more team oriented like the 04 pistons were and less of a superstar team. George is good but its not like he lead them to the conference finals. It was a team effort. And the way that team plays I doubt he ever scores more than 19ppg. Theyre just not built that way.

hes actually a lot better than both of those players, especially batum. like comparing him to batum is borderline insulting to george.

Roy Hibbert was by far the Pacer's best player, they wouldn't go anywhere without him. He was a man possessed in the playoffs, anchoring their defense and was a beast in the post. PG is getting vastly overrated.

This feels an awful lot like Kirilenko's situation years ago.

So Paul Geroge is getting more money than Durant, Westbrook and even Steph Curry got.

All 3 players are better than him

PG is a max player but not at $90m max. Overpaid.

This leaves only Stephenson and Granger not signed next year, meaning worst case scenario and both leave, we still have a very very good team.

Westbrook signed for less....

10m less and Westbrook is a much better player.

PG is being overpaid. No cutting around it

I also dont understand fans who say '' its the market''. just because players are being overpaid, doesnt mean everybody should.

James Harden got less, Westbrook, Curry, Durant and they are all better players. His offensive game isnt good enough. Whilst he is a max player i dont think he is a 90m max player.

those are **** examples cuz the thunder couldnt afford to pay durant and westbrook more, hence why they chose those 2 and got rid of harden.

curry is a better player but the margin isnt huge, and curry also signed his contract before last season whem there were still a lot of doubts about his health. he signed it mostly as a safety guarantee, remember this was after playing only 23 games in 2012.

also depending on what George does next year he could be argued as better than westbrook.
