At least the team I thought had the highest ranked guys did indeed have the highest ranked guys.

It will be interesting to see if I should have taken rush over either of my Wizard wings. Part of the prob with Rush for me is that some of his value is in blocks, which is wasted on my team.

For example, my team has guys like Evan Fournier, Brandon Rush, Psyho T, and John Henson who should do several notches better than they did last year. I think for teams like mine, this is a worst-case scenario (barring injuries).

Rush is rated 134, but Fournier, Hansbrough, and Henson are rated 230, 247, and 193, respectively. I think Hansbrough is rated right. And Henson is given 21 mpg which is reasonable as is the ranking for that kind of minutes. I disagree with their ranking of Fournier, because it's based on 16 mpg. He should be up around 20-22 mpg, but it's somewhat understandable to lower the minutes expectations considering Foye is considered the favorite to start right now, and Fournier failed to make the French national team for Eurobasket.

I don't think Fournier will have a hard time surpassing a below 40% shooter like Foye.

I even thought about Fournier at 136 for a brief moment but then of course went with Redick instead. Fournier's defense is horrible (yes I think he's even worse than Foye) but I do think he's the better player of the two, if not this year then he will become better next year... So at first I thought there would be a time share because Foye got his minutes wherever he went so I guess he will get his 20-24 and Fournier will get his 20-22 just like Ham said. Miller will be getting the rest of the minutes at the SG.

but then brainstormed about the rotation and I believe there is a fairly hard log jam at PG so Miller should be forced to play more at SG this year. And now I just can't find a way to play all of these guys the minutes they deserve.

PG: Lawson (33) / Nate Rob (12) / Miller (3)
SG: Foye (18) / Miller (13) / Fournier (17)
they even have Jordan Hamilton....

that is by giving Foye 9 minutes less than his career average of 27, giving Miller 10 minutes less from last year, and giving Nate 6 minutes less than his career low 18. So there is a good chance one of Fournier or Foye getting only 10-12 minutes, opening some time for the other SGs.

Fournier is the most likely candidate to cut minutes, because Nate and Foye were willingly recruited, which could mean Shaw doesn't really trust him, at least not yet.

if one of the SGs had a frame to handle SFs then it would have been fine, at least until Gallo returned. But now Shaw has a problem on his hands: Keeping everyone happy. Or Miller will be traded, which still wouldn't get Fournier more than 23 minutes IMHO: Lawson 34, Nate Rob 16, Foye 23 and Fournier 23

While I agree that Denver has a lot of bodies worth getting minutes this year, I don't really see any reason Fournier can't get 20mpg.

Seems like a reasonable projection to me. He might even top that.

Andre Miller is likely traded at some point opening up some time. Then you just have a position battle between Foye and Fournier and I'd put my money on Fournier. (but, I would have put it on Burks over Foye last year so who knows?)

These are all good points, but there's one thing we should probably keep in mind. Andre Miller is old. How old you say? He'll be 38 before the season is over. He's not only past his prime, he's past due for a front office job. I see his role on this team as a veteran mentor and lining himself up for an assistant coach job, rather than earning more minutes. As for Nate Robinson, he was signed to take minutes away from Miller, not eat into the shooting guard rotation.

Most people see Fournier having a breakout year this year. My expectations are similar, but I don't see him starting as strong as some think. I think Foye was signed as a safety net for Fournier. Fournier came on strong at the end of the year, but then struggled in the playoffs. Foye may actually start to start the season, but by the midway point, I can see Fournier starting and taking away Foye's minutes, because, well, he's Foye, and he's hardly a reliable starter.

As for Fournier not making the French National team, I think that's more of a matter of Fournier putting his energy into the NBA and the Summer League this year. I don't think his priorities were on playing in France. He was recently quoted as saying he never wanted to play a Euro game again, but wanted to make it big in the NBA. I doubt he was concerned about making the national team...

I like Fournier's prospects, and I'm definitely higher on him than bbm's projections, but I can understand the caution. I've got him in the FFDL so I want him to do well.

Fournier just didn't have a good summer overall. Even if he wasn't putting it all in to make the national team, his summer league numbers were pretty bad. For 6 games, 23 m/g, 9.3 p/g, 1.3 p/g, 2.2 r/g, 0.7 a/g, 0.7 s/g, 0.3 b/g, 36.5% fg, 69.2% ft, 2.2 to/g. His efficiency numbers were absolutely terrible.

Once upon a time, guys like Jeremy Lin and Eric Bledsoe had sub-par summer league experiences, here's hoping Fournier is in the same boat, and does better than he did in the Summer

Lin's summer league experience was good enough that it got him an NBA contract as an undrafted rookie, and included a memorable matchup against number 1 pick John Wall in a summer league game. That was Lin's only season of summer league because the following year was the lockout, and then he had Linsanity, and was injured. Bledsoe had a poor showing his rookie year and didn't have a great year though it was promising. He did have a good summer league last year. If Fournier is in the same boat, then we should expect him to do well in 2014-2015.

My point was that Summer League isn't an indicator of success, because players who do poorly don't necessarily do poorly in the league. But more importantly, success after the Summer league is mediated by context. Lin bounced around before landing in New York and getting a shot, and Bledsoe played behind better PGs before getting his chance this year (he's still relatively unproven). Fournier's context is much different than others, with really no one but Foye to compete against for SG minutes. Obviously, I don't expect him to blow up, but he could easily be a 12 ppg, 1.5 steals, 2 3s type of guy, whether he starts or not.

Well, sign me up for thinking he'll blow up then I guess, but I actually meant to put 1-2 3s, probably closer to 1.5.

And I checked my email. Nothing there.

1.5 3ptm puts him at 115-120 range which is more likely. but I still think the minutes will be hard to come by (I mean more than 22) at least until Miller gets traded. Miller was old last year as well but he played 26mpg in all 82 games. It's hard to imagine him getting only 10mpg this year. It has to be at least around 15-18

What a crybaby :D

at least he will only miss 3 weeks of regular season. My sleeper is out at least until January, possibly longer than that and by then Noel will be back in the line up. Meh....

Hey, he's not on my team. Just thought it was humorous given his long and historied tradition of injury.
