Kobe Bryant post up and fadeaway 2013 highlights

Post#1 » by Massamba » Wed Sep 25, 2013 12:52 pm

He reminds me Michael Jordan, but most of his post up moves end up with a fadeaway. What i've noticed from watching Kobe, he uses the fadeaway like 95% of the time. In comparison Carmelo Anthony uses all kind of moves ( hook, fadeaway etc..). Wade and LeBron use the left handed or right handed hook shot more than the fadeaway.

Some comparisons:

LeBron James - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_cEVwrnV5c
Dwyane Wade - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLDkLJKauDU

I think he just takes what the defense gives him and the reason he uses that fadeaway so much is that he is really good with it....if I could shoot those as well as he can it would be all i use....

He shot 49% from 3-9 feet and 52% from 10-15 feet...in both categories a full 10% higher than the league average

About 1/2 per game in both categories.....he should use the post game more and with Howard gone I think he will
Better than taking those long jumpers

As far as fadeaways go,he's been hitting those same shots for some years now.....and the stats show he's been pretty efficient too

For most of the players might seem a bad shot ,but not for Kobe....I'll take a contested fadeaway from him from the post over a MWP wide open 3 every day of the week

I know he has a good fadeaway, but your stats form 3 to 15 feet aren't only fadeaways. How can you know how many of those shots are fadeaways?

I was talking about his post up moves. All the shots from 3 to 15 aren't just post up moves.

He's not shooting mid-range jumpers without posting up in that range. May be a few might be off the dribble pull ups but I'd bet a majority of those would be coming off post ups.

Slava nailed it ....

Anyway,he might mix it up from 3-9 feet with the occasional hook or teardrop(beating the defender and finishing at the rim counts as shot at the rim....other category) but from 10-15 it's all J's and like Slava said, usually from a post up so most of the shots are fadeaways

He might have an occasional pull up J but most of his pull ups are from farther away and count in the 16-23 ft range...

even as a celtic fan Kobe is a real pleasure to watch. awesome offensive arsenal. very jordan-esque tho.
