The other thing that amazes me is that most of the people who are freaking out about the Packers going 1-2, about TT's ability as a GM and things of that nature... those are the same people who were talking about how perfect the 49ers were, about how they were unstoppable... and now they are 1-2 as well.

Another team that has had major injury issues so far (Crabtree, Davis) and now suspensions (Smith). Amazing how a teams play can slip a little when they don't stay completely healthy all year.

That's an awesome point. And hell, they were getting pushed around WITH Aldon Smith.

I don't feel like wasting my time checking this out, but i wonder on active SF forums, what percentage of their fans are mostly blaming Jim Harbaugh and his play calling for the offensive woes the last two weeks?

This start to the season is also yet another example of why fans need to wait before just assuming that a schedule is going to end up being really brutal or easy when they first come out. Having to play teams in the NFC East and Pittsburgh looked like rough sledding before the season started, but not so much now.

And even that could turn again before those games come up. It's just such a week to week league. That's what makes it so much fun.

Not me. I predicted 13-3 and SB winner. IF healthy after bye and stay healthy I could still see 13-3 but injuries are a bugger (we are 3-0 with healthy Burnett, Hayward Matthews) so I'll reluctantly adjust to 11-5 but still SB champs. I like this team. By the end of the year (barring major injuries) we'll be a steam-roller!

All i care about is the Packers getting into the playoffs and being reasonably healthy at the time. Recent history has shown that the NFL playoffs are largely a crapshoot and Wild Card teams can win a ring just as easily as say a 13-3 division winner can.

I agree totally that's why I said "still SB champs." Its just I also feel we're a good enough team to win plenty barring major injuries. IF Sherrod or Tretter can come off the PUP and make a solid contribution this season that would be huge!

There needs to be a fierce pass rush if we're going anywhere in the playoffs. As soon as I see it, I'd list us as Superbowl faves.

Screens and slants. Coach Mac hate em.

I don't mind the fairly limited amount of slants, but i do wish he called more screens, especially with the better talent we have at RB this year.

I do mind the lack of slants. We have one guy who is a quick route runner and two other guys who are big enough to block out the corner behind them. It's a guaranteed 6 yards minimum every time.

Tell that to James Jones.

I like James Jones, but it seems like dude sells out Rodgers on those kinds of routes 4-5 times a year.

I thought there were some really interesting videos at this link. The videos break down specific plays and show why they didn't work or what could have been based on the action on the field. The deep pass to Q that was missed was brutal to see. EDS getting bullied on what would have been an easy 1st very late in the game was also brutal.

It is definitely unfortunate and there is literally no excuse for it.

As BF1&2 mentioned earlier, the slant is largely taken away from our WRs because of the defenses we face. Even crappy CBs can nullify slant routes given how teams defend us.
