Thats mostly because we had a D back then. If u really think about it bro, we lost melton and idonije from our rush last year. Thats over 13 sacks gone.
Anyways could have a roody poo no sack defense prolong the life of ur qb,? as teams would head hunt less for ur qb since ur not destroying theirs?

Honestly, Melton cooled off after a hot start last season. I have seen nothing in the two and a half games he played this year (or heard anything in training camp for that matter) to indicate that he had rediscovered his inner beast. The pass rush actually looked great in the pre-season from the DL when Collins was in there. There's some hope with NC in the game.

I find this the most interesting. Is it believable Nick Collins is better than Melton? The only other difference is the rush besides that was the MLB in the 4-3.

I mostly agree, but I worry about possibly not having Tillman or a limited Tillman against Calvin Johnson. And if we keep blitzing our safties like we have been, we could get shred up by Reggie Bush, Tony Scheffler or even guys like Fauria/Pettigrew in the passing game.
We absoulutely need to get the preassure from the d-line.

Am I the only one who thinks that Tim Jennings is better than Tillman? A lot of times Tillman goes for a turnover and botches a tackle or his coverage. Jennings seems to generate turnovers while covering his man and making tackles.
This year and last year Jennings has had 10 interceptions, while Tillman has had 5 interceptions and 10 forced fumbles. I wasn't able to find the stat on how many of those fumbles the Bears recovered, but it seems to me that even if Tillman is better at generating turnovers, Jennings is better because he doesn't gamble as much to get those turnovers.
I'm excited to see what Collins can do. Our defensive line needs something.
The Lions may be a better team on paper, but they are the best team in the NFL at finding a way to lose. I say that Cutler shreds their defense and we get a couple of turnovers on defense to win 34-24.
