I almost took him. For the longest time, I was planning on taking two towers too (I had three bigs I liked, and figured I take two of them), but then when Batum was sitting there, I had a change of heart. I had Noah ahead of Gasol too until the last minute (have a feeling that Gasol, without Bynum or Howard around, could rack up big time #s).
I thought I did pretty well, my rebounds and blocks are taken care of now.
I'm wary of Gasol, I've got a feeling that his FG% is gonna be terrible with D'Antoni making him take too many jumpers.
Yeah, you and I had a very similar strategy (until I changed my mind). As far as Gasol goes, I think he is more likely to revert his fg% to 50%+ like before last year, because he will not take as many jumpers, and will basically play the Amare role in D'Antoni's offense. I know there has been some mention of him playing PF, but I don't think there will be too many times with him and Kaman on the floor, knowing D'Antoni. I expect his rebounding #s and fg% to go way up from last year, more in line with prior years (and maybe even better with no other good bigs around and it being a contract year).
