I remember last season we were begging for young talent and now that we've got it people want to go back and add older players that haven't played in the NBA for a while? I don't get the logic in here sometimes...

How sad!! Seriously, this year is going to be pretty depressing to watch if this Dbag puts on the Lakers uniform again.

Sasha, Farmar, Ariza... It's ironic they all played together and are all in the running for the most over-rated Lakers ever.

Trevor was huge in that 2009 title run fellas... That dude consistent 3 point shooting was significant in our playoff journey. Also his defense on Hedo in the finals against Orlando was huge also. Lets not act like Trevor wasn't an important piece that year in the playoffs. I'd take him back in a Lakers uniform TODAY if it was for the right price (5mill a season)

More than anything else, his cuts and finishing at the rim was beautiful to watch, insane body control and he went hard in the paint. Since then we had Artest missing lay ins and commit charges on 2 on 1 fastbreaks.

But here's the crazy thing. IMO I doubt we beat the Celtics in that 2010 finals without Artest (even if keeping Trevor was the best move longterm). Pierce would've had a field day in that series with Trevor guarding him. But idk. We took them 6 games in the 2008 finals with Walton and Vlad Rad guarding Pierce. So it'll be something we'll never know

Metta didn't really affect Pierce's play at all. He played well and got to the spots he wanted which I was quite disappointed about. Pierce's stats was similar to the his regular season with the difference being fg% being slightly down. But most playing in that series had their fg% down.

MWP did affect Pierce's play.....not for the whole series but especially the last 2 games which were vital us being down 3-2

Not only did he slow Pierce down (31 pts in 80 mins, 11-29 FG) but actually outplayed him on the offensive end also

I was also a bit dissapointed especially after the defensive clinic he put on Durant,I thought Pierce would be less effective but in the end it worked out fine and he did a great job when it mattered most

Metta's best contribution in that series against Boston was kneeing ray Allen's quad. Allen shot like 0 for 27 after that.

But for real if Ariza were guarding pierce instead of metta, we wouldn't have won. People forget that Ariza was awful on the ball. Kobe was doing all the heavy lifting before metta came in. I recall Ariza getting trashed by carmelo before Kobe was forced to guard him in 09(?). Ariza definitely had his strengths but his gambling defense made him an awful on the ball defender.
