Yeah exactly, at least there aren't those crazy 7 year deals anymore. Those were killers.

I just wish the team was in a position to see the maturity before the offer. I honestly believe DMC will get it eventually. I have often compared his attitude to Chris Webbers, who got it eventually. C-Webb in a lot of ways was worse (I think DMC is emotional where as Chris' behavior was calculated), but I think DMC will grow up.
I read a bleacher report article (I know I know...but they had an interesting take) about giving him a max and they brought up this point. Can the Kings afford to see him blossom somewhere else? Where I see it heck to the nah! Talent acquire's talent (free agents). With Cousins we just need him to get it. Without him we don't have anything. So while I'm not exactly thrilled by the move I do think he will get an big offer in FA because at this point he's seen as fixable. Three years into the deal if his attitude issues are worse AND his production doesn't increase he's not being moved for anything close to equal value. I think that fixable perception changes.
I guess it's good they don't have six and seven year deals anymore.

Regardless if you like the move or not, it's nice to have owners with that kind of cash and willingness to spend it!

Yup! I thought they were going to wait until the season starts and see if Cousins shows any improvement, but I guess I was wrong. Maybe management is seeing something they like in the gym already.

I'm sure if they could, they would, but they really can't. The extension deadline is, I think like a day after opening night.

Oh, I didn't know that, Lol. I should have checked the dates first. But in any case, I just thought management would have liked to see Cousins' improvement this upcoming season first before giving him an extension. Still, I like this move, even though I still have some doubts. Management showing they have faith in Cousins is giving me reassurance
