Bleacher Report: Miami doesn't make it past the second round

Post#1 » by Mohanad » Sat Sep 28, 2013 5:01 pm

We can sit here and hope that Wade will be healthy all we want, but the fact remains that his body appears to be breaking down rather quickly, and given his aggressive style of play, that could mean that Wade's impact on the game will be nullified—or at least significantly diminished—on both ends.

That isn't to say that the 31-year-old will suddenly become mediocre, but it seems as if the days of Wade single-handedly winning his team ballgames are long gone, and unless he develops a relatively consistent three-point shot, his effectiveness is going to be limited.

LeBron will be LeBron. He will probably put forth another MVP-caliber season, and this time, he may have to score even more. That's not just because of Wade's deteriorating health, but because Spoelstra is apt to significantly reduce No. 3's minutes this season, and James may have to pick up the slack. Perhaps the superstar will average 28-30 points per game rather than the 26-27 he has been posting since he arrived in Miami.

Ultimately, a gimpy Wade and a lack of a consistent presence in the frontcourt will be the Heat's downfall. Indiana, Brooklyn, New York and Chicago are all gaining on Miami, and it's only a matter of time before the torch gets passed.

The Heat will not win 66 games like they did in 2012-13, and that's not just because of the improving squads surrounding them. It's also due to the fact that they will likely coast through the regular season and will attempt to conserve as much energy as possible for the playoffs.

Prediction: Miami goes 56-26, grabs the No. 2 seed and loses in the second round of the postseason.

Social media continues to fuel the Miami Heat. I agree that the Heat will be looking at their reclamation projects to ease the load in this marathon season (100+ games) but Spo/Riley are too smart/experienced to burn their team out by the postseason (as steve kerr and other media heads are insinuating) I say their main competitor in the league this season is going to be Indiana but Lebron would want to be on one of the 5 teams in NBA history to 3-pete. This is definitely going to be one of the most pressure-packed seasons in Heat history

 Let's not take this guy likely because if you can view his profile, you'll see that he's a fan of one of our biggest rivals...Boston Celtics. The article is full of hate and I doubt this cat gets to watch any Heat games other than the ESPN,TNT, or the ABC games. What an idiot but anyways let's just wait for the season to start.

Unbelievable, Kenny.

I don't wanna say Kenny is a hater but he does seem to dislike the Heat. He was saying last year that the Heat wouldn't repeat. Very funny thing is that Charles loves LeBron and is probably the only player that says on record that he expects him to catch MJ one day but he obviously doesn't like Wade and the Heat.

Both Kenny and Charles picked Indiana last year. After the Spurs beat Miami 1-0, Chuck said Spurs might sweep . Chuck has bet against Miami each and every year.

I think Kenny and Chuck are "old school" and not fans of smallball. Chuck picked Chicago and Dallas in 2011, OKC in 2012, and Indiana and Spurs in 2013. Obviously for some reason he's biased against the Heat.

Out of all of these people I only really think Kerr has a point with the physical and emotional exhaustion of playing 100 games 4 years in a row.

It is no surprise that they are not picking Miami this year. In fact, real news would be if they DID pick Miami to win it all.

Wait, is T-Mac joining the TNT crew in some capacity whether in the studio or calling games? Because that would be pretty cool. Honestly, I'd rather have him replace Shaq, but that won't happen.

Is it really more crazy than saying we'll lose in the conference finals or in the finals? We'll probably have to play one of Indy and Chicago in the 2nd round and imo, those are the two best teams in the league when it comes to matching up with us.

But, yeah, bleacher report sucks

Kenny Smith is one butthurt curmudgeon... he has chosen against us every season. He will just keep choosing against us and the rare times he will be right he will beam and say: "See, told you!".

straight up hater.

How does Kenny Smith still have a job? He brought up Cleveland and the Knicks as threats. Charles Barkley is terrible too.

People also said we wouldnt get LeBron, and that we wouldnt make the FInals in 2011, and that OKC would beat us in 2012, and that the Spurs would beat us in 2013, those same media people have said for years that Wade is washed up, and LeBron isnt clutch. Sooooo. ya.
