We start camp Oct 1 (tues) and media day is always the day before, so Monday is when we will get all that extra media coverage. I think those other teams started camp early, that's why they had theirs already.

I can't believe pre-season is only like a week away now. So close to finally seeing this new roster in action. :D

Q00 has it. Monday will be media day, and only 7 teams had their so far, that I'm specifically aware of.

Detroit's media sucks when it comes to covering the Pistons. Its basically the same thing every year with them, nothing new, nothing worth reading, nothing exciting....not too shocked about the lack of coverage leading up to the season.

I'm in Oklahoma and was able to figure out the coaching staff like 10 days before Detroit's media broke it...

While you have some what of a point, we also have 2 huge FA signings, extreme excitement around this team since the Go Work days, a center who has as much personality as athletic ability ,and a new owner who's marketed the pistons and palace like its never been marketed before. Even if its the same media day like every other year, its really not.

I listened to it. I'm pumped .... and I learned nothing except the Pistons are really impressed at how great a passer Josh Smith is: "He sees the everything on the court all the time."

Just noticed the Pistons are video streaming media day live from the palace at pistons.com

Not sure when it started or how much is left, but they are doing player photos right now. I think its just getting started though.

bit dissappointing that it was nothing other than green screen captures. hopefully some interviews that were done on the side pop up soon. im sure there will be plenty over training camp aswell though.

From Mlive:
"Drummond said he lost 15-plus pounds during the summer and weighs 275. Most of his offseason work, predictably, was on the the offensive end. "I worked on my jump hook with both hands, worked on my mid-range shot, different ways to attack the basket."

Funniest person

Bynum: Josh Smith is pretty funny

Andre's Goals

Andre: double-doubles...with four blocks and DPOY

At 15 min of the video, KCP runs through Tony's shot on purpose

At 1 hr. there's a interesting shoot around that takes place

Does anyone else think Cheeks comes across as very vague?? I remember reading an article when he was hired stating that he was very unorganized and lazy during his time in Philly. I hope that isn;t the case in DEtroit.

Yeah I know what you mean. I kind of felt that way during his introduction press conference too. Cheeks is more of a motivational players coach who focuses more on controlling personalities and team chemistry. He is not known much for his X's and O's so it doesn't surprise me. He is pretty much the exact opposite of Frank lol. I didn't like the hire much when it happened but I agree with feks, lets give him some time to prove himself first. Im willing to see what he can do with this team.

Is there anything from day 1 of camp?

not sure what to think of cheeks. he hasnt exactly been very big in the media. didnt show up to a single player introduction press, hasnt had a single interview published, hasnt spoken to us at all. not sure what to think of him at the moment, and like most, wasnt thrilled with the hire when it happened, but lets give him a bit of time, see how it goes.

Return to Detroit Pistons
