NBA2K14 was pretty disappointing.
Pretty much the exact same thing as 2K13 but now whenever you jump at someone shooting a jumper you don't fly by them you crash into them for a foul.
If the player you are using has a 80+ rating for his inside game he'll finish the layup or dunk in traffic more often. A couple new dunks. That's right just a couple.

Besides the updated rosters and new rookies I really don't see too much of a difference.
Graphics and player motions are the same. Even the menu is exactly the same except for the blue background instead of red like in 13.
IMO 2k13 was damn near perfect which is more than likely why the designers didn't touch it up too much on 14. It's like damn they didn't have to make it that noticeable LOL

The movie is based on the book iirc, but I haven't read the book.

Plot-wise - damn near nothing. Being a book it's more reliant on exposition, it also delves into themes in a manner that only books can (internal monologues and such), namely those of nihilism and anarchy. IIRC
