I didnt think Simmons took any shots at Orlando. He assumes Oladipo cant play pg, but didnt comment on how he played in the Summer League which makes me assume he didnt watch it.

I dont think oladipo will be pass first high assist pg but more of an attacking pg and is really a combo guard.

And make no mistake we will see Oladipo play ALOT of pg this season because Jameer will miss 30 games most likely and we have no other options.

I think he was just referencing how Henny frequently refers to his players and staff as great "human beings."

Anyway, that's cool he chatted a bit. I hope we ride Dipo at the 1 as long as possible this season, even if it's clear he will not be there long-term. I don't care what position Harris plays this year either as long as he starts.

i didnt mean he is less of one by saying that... actually, i think he says that stuff only trying to be funny. thats why he hired jalen rose to be in his podcast and not a guy like steve kerr, he is just trying to entertain.

i really dont care much about that stuff he says and i rarely read his articles. i really like stuff other guys from grantland though, like jalen rosen, david jacoby, zach lowe, etc

Then Bill said that VO is his choice as Rookie of the year. Hard to figure, if the Magic play him at the 1, and since Simmons doesn't think he'll play good how VO becomes ROY?
If VO wins ROY, he will have to be in the starting line-up, and this team will have at least 28 wins, prob over 30.

It has been a very long time since LeBron was 250. He was already 245 at the time of the draft at age 18. Still, I like Tobes at 240 quite a bit. He was already a bit of a bull at his weight last season.

Victor Oladipo has achieved two of his childhood dreams in the last week.

On Tuesday, he started participating in his first NBA training camp.

And the other day, through a stroke of luck, he met one of his childhood idols, former Orlando Magic superstar Tracy McGrady. McGrady offered Oladipo some advice on how to handle the pressures of a rookie season.

“It was kind of just an interesting moment, because it was Tracy McGrady,” Oladipo recalled before the Magic started practice today. “I grew up watching him. For him to actually want to give me advice was pretty cool. It’s all just been a blessing really.”


Oladipo said his meeting with McGrady occurred by chance.

Oladipo saw the seven-time All-Star somewhere in Central Florida and walked up to McGrady to introduce himself.

They started to talk.

When he was a child, Oladipo looked up to McGrady.

“It was one of my first jerseys I’ve ever bought: a Tracy McGrady Orlando Magic jersey in seventh grade,” Oladipo said, smiling.

What advice did McGrady give?

“Just bascially to work hard,” Oladipo said. “Never stop working hard. Never be satisfied. The sky’s the limit if I do that.”
