before the season starts call out your likes and hate player

Post#1 » by Tee212 » Fri Oct 4, 2013 6:01 am

Just making this thread before everyone starts to call out the obvious with their likes and hates of players. The prime example is when they do bad everyone says "I always hated this guy, why is he in the league" or then when they do well they would say " I always loved his game and leaves a photo of that player in their avatar or siggy...i just find it silly as hell.

I think this happened to basically every laker player from pau/farmar/blake/metta/machine...Sooooo predict your praises/hates now and we can reflect on this as the season progress.

We're talking about the Lakers players here right?

I don't think I hate anybody on the current roster.....well,maybe Meeks
Use to be right up on Blake's ass for 2 years but his play the last season made me change my mind

As far as my assesment of the future like/dislike list? It's going to be a hard season, with no real expectations so I'm taking it easy.....but if I see wide open 3's missed by a player over and over again esp when he's supposed to be a shooter I'll reserve a spot on my hate list :D

If someone does something stupid I reserve the right to call them out on it. I don't think I dislike anyone in particular though.

i can already see ppl complaining about kaman being slow on d or young for shooting to much or the famous trade pau now while theres still some value left after a poor game.

lol hi leepretty, I guess what im really getting at is a poster will make a player trade thread after they have like 2-3 bad games and im like are you serious?(panic much??) lol .. we dont actually hate our players perse, but you do remember the blake fiasco couple years back. everyone was on his ass for missing shots and horrid d in the denver series...then all he did was hit a key winning 3 down the stretch and everyone was like our god! lol. I just want to see where everyone stands now with our players stead of pointing out the obvious if our player does well or suck down the season.

but so far i our key guys farmar/wesley/young to produce off the bench and will defend them good or bad. nash/pau/kobe will get a pass on D cause theyre just plain old.

meeks-id expect a lil better than last year
hill- ill take 75% of what he did while healthy
kaman- reliable pick n pop any thing else will be a plus
farmar- speed up the pace and create shots for himself and others
young- creates his own shot with 8 secs left on the clock
wesley- transistion D (ill miss the metta half court D) and hit open shots
nash- ill expect another 50/40/90 season, poress D which is always expected.
pau- to be his old self again
kobe- slow start and wont be back to himself IF that til xmas.

and the rest of the roster id expect garbage, hopefully we have another diamond like clark. wish our chemistry will click with this roster and my low expectation this year will be 7-8th spot.

btw expect more articles on why the lakers suck is because of kobe D and how hes sucking up the salary. of course this will only suface if we go on a 5+ game losing streak.

I actually am a Steve Blake fan. The dude isnt scared to shoot the big 3. It takes really non IQ hoop fans to not understand that he doesnt do his thing out there. I'm actually happy he wasnt afraid to shoot that open 3 in that OKC game 2. And he was HUGE in that Game 7 in the Denver series a couple years ago. But with that said he is very injury prone and I wouldnt surprised if we moved him at some point this season. Keyword: Surprised .

C'mon lee,95% of the Lakers fan base bashed Blake for those 2 years....he's been trash and on top of that, injury prone, there's no way around it

He did blossom under D'Antoni last year and I give him credit for that but let's no act the previous 2 years didn't happen

Like Earl said, when a player sucks consistently, there's no shame in calling him out......there can't be only praises and when he does stupid things,we keep our eye closed

Now ,I'm not saying we should make threads about getting rid of the guy like tee said, but criticism is a part of the issue when a player underperforms, and those who criticise shouldn't be blasted for doing that,as long as they don't go overboard

I more hate situations and styles then players.

Nick Young: I have a feeling he won't play within the offense and will shoot too much. He may think he's replacing Kobe before Kobe returns from injury. I have a strong feeling this is going to happen and no one has really mentioned it.

Steve Blake: I think D'Antonni likes him too much and he will get too many minutes at sg. Kobe, Young, Meeks I prefer there.

Kaman: Defense will be a problem with him on the court. I don't want to see him with Gasol.

Wesley Johnson: Other fans try to undersell this guy (for good reason) but he was actually starting to play well at the end of last season with Phoenix. He can be a 3D guy...and these types of players are huge. And the Lakers nee one. He is a huge key to the team's success this season.

Shawne Williams: He can be a player in this offense. He can also defend and shoot and play more then one position.

Jodie Meeks: No one seems to like this guy anymore. I see him having a better season. Another guy that can play a "role" well...catching and shooting and playing hard D. Yeah, his D was questionable but his energy wasn't.

Gasol: I'm excited to watch him play this season as the main pick and roll and post guy. Is there any guy who will be more important?

Nash: I'm very interested to see what Nash does now that there are more shooters and without the "no pick and roll" center we had last year.

Kobe: To me what Kobe does is not "everything" for this season. What Kobe does physically and mentally is the "tipping" of the scales from poor to ok or poor to worse. Or from good to great or good to ok. Or from great to championship or great to good. If he is physically there and goes along with the coach then the team can have great chemistry. If he's not the same or there is still a player/coach issue (Kobe buying in) then the team will be more limited.

Alright I'm gonna call it now. I think Kaman and Pau combo would work better than Howard/Pau, offensively, maybe even better than Pau/Bynum tbh. Kaman is extremely underrated in the league. The guy has good bball iq, very good passer, and his athleticism/mobility is underrated. The key with him is being healthy and motivated.

Based on the fact that he signed for a cheap contract just to play here, and him partaking on practices with the younger players that the Lakers acquired even when the official training camp hasn't started yet. This to me shows that he is motivated to play well this coming season.

Health wise, I think playing with powerforward/center all star in Pau would help him stay healthy. I can really see them meshing together. I just hope that D'antoni doesn't go full "D'antoni ball" and he would give Pau/Kaman combo a fair chance.

I don't hate anyone on the Lakers, but if I have to pick one I'll go with Nash. Ok, like I said I don't hate anyone on the team, I love Nash, he's an old school player, I like the fact that he gave up having a team of his own just to play for us. But as much as I want him to win a ring with us, as time goes on it just seems like it's unreasonable for us to keep him, basketball wise. I really hope he would prove me wrong this season tho.

I hear u sir, I just tend to be more lenient towards players who always play hard. Sometimes that leads to mistakes but as long as they leave it on the court for our squad. I'll defend them, no players perfect but then again like you guys are saying no one is above criticism. My issue comes in when people be downright nasty about players on the Lakers. Just my view

i remember the times when the machine couldnt throw a rock in the ocean or why dfish is still playing (lead the league in lowest % layups made lol)...and oh lord the love or hate luke fest. there was that one contract year where he put up some decent numbers (pretty impressive for a non athletic white guy) then after some injuries here and there he was never the same...in fact teams would go on runs when hes on the floor with us (many times i took notes). Oh dont get me started on mr.inconsistent odom, one of our best rebounder settles for a 3 (instant turnover) and missing point blank left handed layups or gets a charge call. we had many thread for the odom hate fest but i do miss rebounding pushing the ball up the floor :(

Oh hey, the season hasn't started yet. Let's start trashing players and setting up unnecessary bias.
