Must win game tonight for the Braves. I'm about to head off to Turner Field, should be a great game.

The Rays forgot to play defense all of a sudden.

Matt Moore yanked.

That escalated quickly.

There is an absurdly attractive girl sitting behind home plate of this Dodgers/Braves game.

I'm happy this will (hopefully) be the last game at Turner Field. The tomahawk chop is so annoying I'm tempted to put this on mute.

In true Joe Torre family tree fashion, Don Mattingly is depleting his bullpen because he has no clue what he's doing.

best game of the playoffs so far.
the chop is annoying...and it must go....like no srsly. I can compartmentalize and not make this about the Dodgers. It's not appealing as a "this is what we do even if you hate it" type thing...just get rid of it.

close call at 2nd with Dee Gordon.
my 1st look i thought he caught it early enough to tag him and then tagged him late.
2nd look was really too close for anyone to call....maybe one of those odd times that the only good view of the play was the umpire's.

wanted a sweep but part of me is glad hanley tagged a homer and we made Kimbrel look normal in the 9th so they wouldn't just come into Chavez with all the momentum.

i was at BWW watching the game last night.

and i told my buddy that it was important as hell that Kershaw got through the 7th...because i can't trust Donnie Baseball with 9 outs.

who the hell didn't pitch tonight?

Great win for the Braves tonight. Minor was awesome, Kimbrel was great, and the offense came through. Now we go into a game 3 where really both teams need to win.

But as for the chop, you guys may not like it but it really is here to stay. It's been there since the golden days of the 90s and is a symbol of the Braves and the fans. Almost all the Braves fans love it and the Braves aren't gonna stop doing it because fans of other teams find it annoying. See you in LA.

I'm relieved Gordon was actually out. He looked safe from where I was sitting and I thought that controversy was going to take the luster off of an awesome game. So nice to see the Braves play incredible defense after all the blunders we've seen in the last handful of playoff games. Avilan has balls of steel.

great stories in the Dodgers-Braves. If only we had the east coast bias to hype it all up. Ryu vs. Teheran. Rookie vs. Rookie.

should be awesome. Ryu had the better month of September and that's what I'm holding onto going into this.

You bring up an interesting point here, Quake. Look at the teams that are currently in the playoffs:

Boston (big market)
Tampa (small market)
Atlanta (mid market)
LA (big)
St. Louis (mid)
Pittsburgh (mid)
Detroit (mid)
Oakland/Bay Area (small... in terms of it being the A's)

This postseason has two large market teams, with the Sox and Dodgers, so the storylines are more driven by under-the-radar players and teams. If you asked the casual baseball fan to name someone on the A's or the Pirates, they would struggle.

I find this to be one of the more interesting/entertaining postseasons in a long time, even with the Yankees missing it. There's teams who made it that have no national appeal to casual fans and could become overnight sensations if they make it to the promised land. ESPN will bury highlights of the Tigers/A's and Pirates/Cards because of the lack of real interest.

This whole postseason has great stories that, more than likely, won't be heard until the World Series or the last few games of the CS (barring they go 6-7 games), because no one will care. That's pretty disappointing for me.

Koji just finished that inning in what felt like 1 minute 30 seconds. Almost a perfect inning.

The Rays just look tired out there. Maybe a day off and the home crowd will do them some good, but this Sawx team just looks to be on point.

I wouldn't want to be the Tigers or A's and having to go to Fenway with how complete they look.

Most of the prognosticator's have been picking Detroit over Boston to advance to the WS.

Having seen Boston play the Rays so many times this year, this Red Sox team is as complete as any that they have had over the past ten years.

Power, base running, depth of productive players makes them a consistent offensive machine.

The Rotation is good and sometimes very good. And the bullpen is dominant.

I am not surprised the Red Sox have done so much damage in the series, but the Rays have helped them a lot too with so many mental mistakes. Still, IMO Boston is the best top-to-bottom team in MLB.

I think the Rays have the mentality to run off 3 in a row.
they own Boston at home.

they're going to have to get over Hellickson though.
good God they're gonna have to get over Hellickson.
