Not only as an insurance plan, but if he gets traded, he could be a solid starter. I had him last year in a league and he was solid all year.

And for good reason too. With Bennett, Bynum and varejao, the Cav's big man rotation is up in the air. I understand why he dropped so far, but at this point in the draft, you gotta take risks. The success of this pick is banking on varejao and Bynum not being healthy at the same time this season, which is something I highly doubt given their history.

Oh yeah, I agree. I stayed away from all of them for that reason. At this point in the draft, I may have taken him though.

I was doing the same thing, but i had to nab Bynum this late. I also planned on picking up Thompson (if available) next round as insurance.

They also have Zeller and Earl Clark, who should be getting some minutes as well. I just figured that there is no way that they let the #1 pick sit on the bench. Even if he doesnt begin the season as a starter, Bennett will take over that spot very very very soon.

Yeah, as I typed that, I almost put that I would have been even more likely to take Thompson if I had taken Varejao (or Bynum) because if one went down, that would likely benefit the other.

yup, i was just getting ready to PM you! :D

What sucks is after your picks, he has another 10 hours. :-?

Our 5 hour limit should have gone into effect 3 rounds ago. It seems like the later rounds is when we always end up losing peoples interest. They just dont care like they do in the first 7 rounds.

That was the shortened season 2 years back. I figured that having so many games in so little time, with tons of back-to-backs, that the youngins would handle it a lot better. It was a damn good strategy!

Its the last round, i think it should be 5. I mean if you miss a pick in this round its not really that big of a deal.
