Ravens Lead-Up

Post#1 » by LUKE23 » Mon Oct 7, 2013 3:58 pm

Obviously, the news on Clay will be big.

Packers offense 3rd in points per game, 3rd in yards per game through week 5. Defense is 17th in points per game, 18th in yards per game.

Hayward should be back this week, so if Clay can go, we're at about full strength.

Baltimore is nowhere near as good as last year, but still a formidable opponent, especially in Baltimore. They are currently 14th in points/21st in yards on offense and 14th in points/14th in yards on defense. They have allowed a 94.0 QB rating so far this season, though they have generated a pretty good pash rush (19 sacks through five games). Their secondary is vulnerable if you protect well.

Can't wait to see Shields on Torrey Smith
Bak vs. Suggs will be good.
Lang vs. Ngata as well.

Should be a win.

Flacco is a very good QB at home. A lot of his bad moments come on the road.

Ray Rice hasn't been that great lately due to injury I guess. Their secondary is very suspect with Webb being their best player back there. Their front 7 is still pretty good.

They allowed Peyton 7TDs in wk 1. That game will skew all their def stats. Since then they have allowed 12.2 ppg and on the season are only giving up 7.5ppg at home.

Its another tough game. GB is favored by a FG.

I think as usual it's going to be up to how our defense holds up. Without Jones and Pitta, their offense is going to continue to rely heavily on Rice and Smith to make big plays. If we can shut down the run like we've been doing so far, then I think we'll be able to get plenty of pressure on Flacco and force him to make some ill-advised throws.

They still have a good defense, but this is the most balanced offense we've had in years, and I doubt our red zone efficiency will be as subpar as it was in the Lions game. Another huge key is turnovers. When this Packers team plays turnover free football, I think they are damn near impossible to beat. Baltimore is only 11th in the AFC in takeaways and sports a less than stellar -4 turnover ratio.

I'll predict a hard fought 24-17 victory, with Flacco throwing a couple big interceptions.

Excited for this game just for the fact that I had to travel during the Bengals and Lions games, so combined with the bye week it feels like it's been about a month since I watched the Packers play. I like that our line has apparently been run blocking well enough for our running backs to get in the 100 yard range. That used to be impossible for us to accomplish, but I believe this year Starks, Franklin, and Lacy have already accomplished that feat.

Hayward comes back and has 3 picks as Shields blankets Smith and Flacco tries to force it inside.

It's destiny. He must fulfill the Doug Pederson prophecy...

I'd honestly prefer Seneca Wallace to Flynn. Once again, why are we making such a big **** deal about backup QB?

You'd feel better about Wallace than a guy who was in our system and played well when the Packers needed it?

If Rodgers goes down for the season then it's over. But if he gets a concussion and the Packers need a backup for one game I'd feel comfortable with Flynn back there.

Seriously sign him. He has proven to be successful in our system, that's all that matters.

Name one reason why you'd rather have Wallace over Flynn. Just one.

Matt Flynn released by the Raiders? I'd love to see him back.

Flynn was a good back up,fit good in our system and I know he was good friends with Rodgers.

Flynn got paid found out hes a back up in the NFL and now he needs to come back up Rodgers for the rest of both of their careers.

You guys are underrating Wallace and overrating Flynn. There's very little difference between the two if there's any difference at all.

They also have played the Browns, Bills, Dolphins, and a woeful Houston team. The Packers will be the 2nd best offense they've played and have the best run defense they've gone up against. Packers have had their issues rushing the passer and holding down receivers but hopefully things will change with Burnett back. The Ravens also have one of the worst pass blocking lines this year. According to PFF, they've given up 13 sacks, 19 hits, and 65 hurries. The Pack are at 11, 5, and 24 for comparison. Bakhtiari is going to need some help though as that front seven for the Ravens is great.
