Henry is going to give us some much needed scoring off the bench this season.

would love seeing henry get some playing time this year. He plays within himself and has looked like a really smart offensive player so far. At least he knows how to make a layup unlike Meeks.....

he's even making midrange J's. I prefer consistency than streaky 3's and lenght and athleticism.

I'm gonna jump the gun after 2 preseason games. Lakers found a gem in Xavier. We have options on the wing position now, this also made Young expandable in case he asks for a big contract next off season.

It always seems to me that the guys who play well in the preseason, don't in the regular season, and the guys, especially vets, that stink it up, turn it around when it starts to count...

Just an observation, and explanation for not giving a **** right now.

Is this for real?

We're already inking in our future plans based on a 2 game PRESEASON sample? We're not winning anything with Young or Henry for that matter playing major mins at the wing position

This **** has gotten out of control......2 days ago,a large portion of the board probably had Henry cut at a certain time during the exhibition season and not making the final roster based on what we know about guaranteed contracts and team needs

After the first game some even put the guy as an option in the rotation and now after the 2nd game we're already making **** future plans about him being a viable wing option in the future

Andrew Goudelock scored 20 pts in the playoffs in one game and he can't find a job
Kobe shot like 25% a couple years ago in the preseason....didn't matter

Like Kilroy said, there are a lot of examples of players who played terrible in the preseason and were doing great when the games actually count and a lot of players who played great and couldn't get on the floor or played terrible when they did

Wait to see an actual roster having Kobe/Nash/Gasol on it play some REAL games together before jumping on someone's dick on how great they are

Am I the only one who noticed last night how Nash (last year really hard to gauge because of broken leg) struggles to shake his defender and draw attention? He can't do what he has done best in the past which make plays from others if he cant. Besides that one left hand around the back pass to Blake in the corner. He had a really hard time with Lawson's defense, generating his own offense and sucking in the defense to make plays for others. I only bring this up because if Kobe is anywhere near as good as he was last year. Will we at some point see Kobe take control of the offense again? Its only one preseason game so he's played but its definitely something we need to pay attention to. Because like last year after that Miami Heat at Staples where Chalmers put major on ball pressure on Nash as soon as the game started it could become a problem. But this year we at least got Farmar as an option

This is by far the biggest issue if you are a fan that cares about trying to win "this year". The team really is not going to be good at all without a top tier offense. And without Nash doing much and Kobe out it will be mostly mid range jumpers and some post ups by Gasol (who I'm not sure if he can be relied upon to post up consistently either).

I'm a little down after the game 2. Nash definitely has trouble with the ultra quick Lawson though. But the main thing is Nash is old. The second thing is Nash NEEDS a pick and roll partner that rolls hard to the hoop to draw the defense. Not just a guy who sets a screen and stands there for Nash to run around (all I have seen so far). Right now I'm not sure if Gasol is much different then Howard in the screen/roll and that was terrible last season. When Nash had Amare or Gortat those guys rolled hard and got layups, opened it up for Nash, and opened it up for shooters.

Anyway, that is the main thing to look for. If the pick/roll can't be effective D'Antonni's offense is useless and we'll see more of the same from last season...scraping by with close wins or a lot of losses (hoping Kobe bails the team out when he returns).
