He's a weak post defender but a fantastic help/weakside defender. I'm sure he'd look a lot better defensively if he played along with a good post defender at center.

Basketball isn't just about stats and Bosh does a lot of work for us on both ends of the floor that doesn't show up in the boxscore. Let's not pretend as if Wade didn't have some massive stinkers in there. The only consistent force in there was LeBron, so if you go by that, it's only LeBron's chip. Basketball doesn't work that way though and we're good enough to have a team where somebody else always steps up.
You don't have to like the dude's game, but at least be rational.
Come on, Wade is a 33 years old with a lot of injury's and he played 324343 times better than Bosh!
States doesn't count, because "Bosh does a lot of work" for us?! ok, but please don't call him a top-player! he is a very good role player that makes a decent job in pick and roll defence( yea, this is the only defence parte where he is very good for his leg's quickness!) and with his mid range jumper when he makes them! other than that, this man has no one on one defence, his post defence is average, he sucks in rebounds( even Ray had more rebounds than him in the last PO')! let's face it, every one here and from the Miami Heat team has expected much more from Bosh, let's say 18/9-18/10 but in the last PO' he was at least under any expectation! I don't hate on him, I expect much more from him and if he does better this season I will come here and I will eat my words!

Wade is 31 and while he had some great games, he also had some dreadful ones and probably only two or three that are up to his standards. Overall, he wasn't much better than Bosh and it's even debatable if he was. This was by far Wade's worst postseason run of his career.
Bosh had a USG% of 18.9, Wade had one of 25.5, so I expect Wade to outproduce him (all injuries aside). In comparison, a guy like David West had a USG% of 22.7 in the playoffs, Zach Randolph had one of 24.2, Carlos Boozer had one of 23.8 and none of those guys significantly outproduced Bosh and in Boozer's case produced even worse. A player is a star based on his ability and while I'm not a fan of Bosh's game, he was one of the most versatile PFs in this league offensively. The problem is, if we were to use his full arsenal, we'd take away from Wade and James, who, if healthy, are two superior players. Thus, we let Bosh make a major sacrifice and use him as the key guy to make our offense work. If he wasn't such a massive threat himself, there wouldn't be all this space in the paint. The dude is a smart guy who doesn't only shoot the ball well, but knows how to position himself off the ball, can set decent screens and, if necessary, can still be used in an isolation.
If you don't get why Bosh isn't more productive, then I can't help you.

This second champioship has the name for first of Lebron, Wade, Ray, Chalmers, Birdman.........and Bosh and is 'the last player deserving of that championship!

What were you doing in the 4 months that you didn't post? Go back to doing that maybe? Ha
Look, Chris was trash at times and certainly didnt play up to his potential in the 12/13 run but...your posts are incredibly bad. You seem to get more of a kick out of **** on Bosh than enjoying the actual games. I thought you were messing around at first but your "critiques" aren't even critiques anymore. It's getting old.

Check out http://www.82games.com/1213/12MIA15.HTM#bypos Bosh got killed on rebounds (no surprise), but most would be surprised to see him posting a positive PER difference at C. I honestly expected to opposition Cs putting up a PER in the 20s, not 17!

Re: Is bosh one of the most underrated defenders in the leag
You're arguing with a guy who hates Bosh irrationally. No point even discussing it with him.
Bosh is not a center by trade, he's a PF. He's been playing out of position, and we have still been one of the top defenses in the league, particularly in the postseason. I think that speaks volumes for what he brings. Some of you want him to be some bruiser that can stop Hibbert, when that's unrealistic. While he may be an average post defender (he is not poor by any means), he is an elite pnr defender. You can't have it all in one package. You want him to be an elite post defender, elite rebounder, elite pnr defender, elite shooter and elite pick and roll man? Keep your expectations reasonable IMO.
He's an elite pnr defender and elite shooter. Elite at something on both ends of the floor is already more than what you get from most all-stars. Name a single C or PF in the league that has it all. I don't think you can. He's excellent for our defensive scheme. He could rebound better overall, but is merely average there. When the season was on the line, he made the rebounds we needed, so that's good enough for me. He's merely average to above-average at shot-blocking, but when the season was in jeopardy, he made the blocks we needed. He does what we need and is always there in big moments, when we need him. I'll take that 10 times out of 10, especially when it goes along with elite shooting and above-average to elite pnr play on offense. We can't have it all, but we got more than a lot from a guy playing out of position.
Bosh is a superstar on a discount. We should thank our lucky stars we have him, because there is literally no one else we could get at that price that is either better for our system, or better than him, period. Dude is a arguably a better shooter than Dirk now, and plays great defense. I'm more than happy, and hope he stays his full career.
Another thing, about the rebounding. Bosh playing fronting defense isn't doing him any favors on the defensive glass. With the small ball, he's forced to front his man, meaning his man is usually going to be between him and the glass on rebounds. That's not to say he's not lazy a lot of times. There are a lot of plays where he simply doesn't jump, which is frustrating, but that doesn't happen during the postseason. I'm fine with him saving his knees for when it counts. He's been rather healthy for us, save for that ab strain. I'd rather that than him getting injured in the regular season, or suffering chronic knee problems because of exertion in meaningless games. We got 66 wins with him playing lazy. It's not an issue in my opinion.

Re: Is bosh one of the most underrated defenders in the leag
bosh was a 'good rebounder' when he was in Toronto. in 2010 he averaged 10.8 RPG (top 10 in the league) at 17.7% (13th in the league).
the heat rebound by association because the nature of their defense calls for it.
people really overvalue the importance of rebounding anyways, especially defensive rebounding. last year the three top leaders in TRB% were reggie evans, kevin love and Anderson varejao. these three players are notorious for being weak defenders.
spoelstra himself changed the defense in the past couple years to sacrifice defensive rebounding in order to focus more on closeouts, rotations, etc. for us to judge and put emphasis on it when talking about defense seems silly to me, especially when the team is focusing on it less for a good reason.
