Hump has a lot more talent than Evans, I'm not denying that. But he was badly outplayed by Evans last year for whatever reason, and eventually lost his starting spot to him, as well as his rotation spot to Mirza for a brief period of time.

He got his ranking because he happens to be a celebrity, not because of his actual play. Outside of Gerald Wallace, he was the team's biggest bust last year.

I really do not remember Hump being badly outplayed by Evans, nor eventually losing his starting spot to him.

I remember Hump playing relatively bad as an in general, then Evans being teacher's pet gifted the starting job and major minutes, followed by us clamoring for Hump to get his minutes back cause he just couldn't be as bad as that stat padding sack of **** Reggie.

I remember how horrendous a coach Avery was and even though PJ Carelessimo was better by default, him being a 6 foot tall stack of condescending **** for brains who would bench Lopez for quarters on end, play us 3 on 5 on offense, iso Deron or run him for extended periods at the 2, deny everything in post games, or own up to them and then never follow through such the Blatche/Lopez combo he was so painfully aware was so obviously excellent yet never let them play together, etc., etc.

You also have to remember that the rankings are based on perception of how good each player actually is.

It doesn't really matter that Reggie put up better numbers than Hump.

Hump's overall talent level is greater than Reggie's and therefore it will affect their respective rankings. The same goes for all of the Wallace vs. the other members of the bench comments.

Keith Bogans excelled in the role that he was given last year (i.e. corner 3s &D) but I doubt anyone truly thinks he's more talented and or truly 'better' than Wallace overall.

I have no idea why he's higher than Andre Miller, Nick Collison, Mo Williams, Thabo or Jason Terry.

#137 - Andray Blatche

Pretty surprised he didn't make the top 100, to be honest. He had a great season last year, and he's certainly better than a lot of guys that will be ranked ahead of him, I'm sure.

Have to agree.
Hump was terrible last year on offense (he was never hitting that outside shot) and defense.
At least Reggie wasn't shooting 15 footers (just getting 3 second calls)

Hump is the more talented player and surely will put up better stats this season, but last year I think Evans played better.

Wow, biggest surprise so far:

#101 - Andrei Kirilenko

Wow. He was 79th in 2012, and even though he had a great season last year, he drops 22 spots? How in the world is he not a top 100 player?

Amazed that some people here think Brook isn't a top 40 player in the league, he had the 5th highest PER last year of anyone and was an All-Star.

he was an extemely efficient scorer. there is more to the game then that. he is an excellent player, he is surely a top 30 guy. but him being ranked 40ish my outsiders shouldnt suprise as his rebounding and defensive issues while very real get overblown

Joe Johnson makes the list at #59.

I think that's drastically overrating him, but whatever. If anything, him and Kirilenko should be switched.

^^Yeah. I expected to see him in the 80's. Kirilenko should have definitely been higher. There are a number of players that are clearly inferior (Deandre Jordan, Kemba Walker, to name a few) yet ranked higher.

Down to Top 50.

The only SFs who should be ranked ahead of a 36 year "post-prime but still elite" PP will be Bron/KD (obviously correct), Melo (at this point in Paul's brilliant career correct), & George (not correct .... yet).

The only PGs who should be ranked ahead of DWill are CP3 & DRose. Steph & Westbrook - maybe. Kyrie - probably not. Rondo & Wall - no. DAMN, there are some fabulous points in the NBA in 2013 - EIGHT of them left to be ranked in the Top 50.

Brook will place in the 20s.

KG even at age 37 will place in the 20s.

Based on the Nets page to follow nets players that have been ranked so far it appears Lopez will rank higher than KG AND Pierce this year. I agree that he should be, but I'm surprised ESPN will do so since they are mostly indifferent towards Lopez.

In comparison, Slam magazine has Pierce ranked 36th. So, yeah...I don't get it. I'm expecting Garnett to be at 46.

Jrue Holiday is waaaay too high. He isn't a top 50 player. I find it hilarious that he had a breakout year while Deron had a down year yet had a VASTLY superior offensive season in comparison.

Some people look at the raw ppg average and assumed he had an outstanding year. Truth is he was horribly inefficient (Brandon Jennings was more efficient which says a lot) all the while having a huge usage rate which in turn contributed to his teams awful offensive rating.
