Beltran signed a two-year, $26 million deal with the St. Louis Cardinals before the 2012 season.

For what? Both teams have no chance of competing in their division next season or in the NL at all. Sign someone who's younger or use someone in your farm system if there's an OF out there. Phillies are already set OF anyways.
