Rare video of convo with Kobe and Floyd Mayweather

Post#1 » by leeprettyp » Sat Oct 12, 2013 6:02 pm

Kobe in the video says he hopes to be ready by opening night after Money May asks him the question. Kobe quickly changes that topic into telling him how the team is traveling to China to play Golden State twice. I'm not really a fan of airing this stuff but its gonna hit the media stream eventually so here it is. BTW this convo is uncencored so their is some language being used. Even though they saw the camera's they probably weren't aware someone was recording this.

Money May said it best in the video, "There's only 2 types of people in this world... The players and the haters"

Good stuff LPP, when I see stuff like this and then go back and see how the haters of Kobe try to diss him it just solidifies my thoughts that people don't know sh*t about him. But they think they know.

You got this one Rocket fan ( inquisitive ) on the GB and every other forum on here talking about "don't be surprise to see Kobe try to lead the league in scoring". I told the fool that's the furthest thing from Kobe's mindset, because that isn't going to help us win jack.

I've seen that guys post. I've learned to pretty much stay away from GB and most of the WT comments. Alot of people hate the Lakers brand and franchise. Remember DEEP... "Jealously breeds envy" Anybody that doesn't accept Kobe as one of the greatest to EVER pick up a basketball doesn't understand the sport at all. We all know that #6 is the guys #1 motivation on this rehab. There's no such thing as a "Kobe fan" and a "Lakers fan".. Their the SAME exact thing.

Seeing this video though also show's even Kobe himself really doesn't know now when he'll be back. That's probably why he's getting annoyed when the media asks him the same question over and over again. This is the final part of the rehab process the Achilles is ready and healed. Time for Bean to get back into basketball shape and see how much of his explosion will come back to him.

Without inquisitive and durins baynes, I wouldn't have the luxury of thinking Lakers haters are just complete morons who throw out baseless claims without bringing anything substantial to an argument.

It's pretty amusing to me to watch the Anti-Kobe cult on the GB go crazy and the mods do nothing about it. It doesn't take a genius to realize what's going on.

I think you forgot skaterdude. I agree about the GB mods though that's why I try not to post on the GB and the "non bias" Player comparison board.

When you have mods on the PC board arguing that KD has had seasons better than Kobe's "best season," you know that board is a joke.

Also, the mods on the GB are quick to warn you for baiting the anti-Kobe cult, they have maximum protection over there.

edit: Rasho_Libre is pretty bad too. It's often he's over there talking how KD is better than Kobe lol

Agree 100%........I really think the GB mods get off on seeing that garbage. Yet they muzzled me because I was too damn strong for them.

And I've been tearing into inquisitive and Durins Baynes every chance I see them post, both are horrible posters and don't know absolutely nothing about basketball other than being haters and bandwagon fans.

Have fun with this one. Here is Durins Baynes saying KD today is better than Prime Kobe lololol... along with a few mods and some other random jokers. What has happened to RealGM?

Durins Baynes wrote:Kobe's record is unambiguous. From 99-04 in games he played, but Shaq missed, the Lakers were 23-26. During that same span in games Kobe missed, but Shaq played, the Lakers were 30-10. In 05-07 the teams bobbed in the same mediocrity we'd seen the Lakers in without Shaq from 99-04. In 08 we saw much the same thing, in games where Pau or Bynum didn't play Kobe led the Lakers to an 11-8 record. Kobe isn't a team carrier, and his impact is greatly overstated by many of his fans. Odom already proved that he could carry a very poor support cast to 31 wins by himself back when he was on the Clippers and was the teams franchise player, so the idea those Laker teams were horrible ones is silly. No, they weren't good support casts, but they weren't especially bad. In 2005 particularly the support cast he had was very solid, and yet the team was bad. And that wasn't due to Kobe being hurt, because in games Kobe played the Lakers were 28-38 (and he had Odom for those). And it wasn't due to Odom's injuries, because Odom was made to sit at the close of the season when the playoffs had become unrealistic. I think the Pacers with Kobe instead of George would be a team who wins 55-58 games, but who ultimately loses- either to the Heat, or to a Western team like the Spurs who isn't playing at a huge match up disadvantage.

Here's another good one from our good ol' friend Durins Baynes over on the PC board lol

The best part is him stating that Lakers 2005 team was "very solid."

Don't mean to blow up this thread, but below is another good one.

Durins Baynes wrote:I'd definitely say a starting 5 of Butler, Mihm, Odom and Atkins was very solid. There were a few non-trivial bench players too. Definitely more than a lot of legends have worked with. Kobe led them to 28-38 while healthy. In contrast look at Duncan (02 and 03), Bird (1980), Lebron (09 and 10), Dr J (74 and 76), Walton (77), etc, etc. Even what Steve Nash did in 2006 looks a lot more impressive than Kobe in 2008.

Its a new generation of NBA fans bro. Most of these people didnt start getting into basketball until 2008. And the rest of them are sour fans of other fan bases. I chose to not even divulge in a unbiased sports conversation with them. IMO we feed the trolls when we do respond to them.

Anybody and I mean anybody who thinks that 2005 team was solid is mentally challenged and the just the straight truth. That team was crap beyond crap. DB is mentally incapable of thinking basketball from an intellectual standpoint.

Actually he said very solid

Let's not forget the deep bench also consisting of Brian Grant/Brian Cook/Jumaine Jones/Tierre Brown/Luke Walton/Stanislav Medvedenko

Definitely underachieved that season...

Hey fellas after seeing this video do you guys think Kobe can make it back by opening night? And if you do, how many minutes do you see him playing the first 15-20 games he returns?
