Maybe officially but McHale and Hoiberg are pals. McHale even texted Hoiberg before White was drafted telling him the Rockets were taking him. Plus Royce is from Minneapolis. I'm sure Kevin kept track of him while he worked for the TWolves.

it was Morey decision to cut Lin
we needed a center more than a 3rd pg
that spot was given to Dalembert

who start doesn't matter
Ginobili coming off the bench most of the time
and people know he is the 3rd most important player on the team

The Rockets chose to keep Jeff Adrien over Jeremy Lin.
Yes one of them had to go to sign Dalembert but Morey chose the wrong one to keep.

You believe Morey don't communicate with McHale? Coach that decides line up and minutes played?

WoW really?

Funny because there were interviews with McHale talking about how he regret cutting Jeremy. Actually, it was more of him shedding responsibility that he had his hands tied with 5 or 6 PG in training camp.

But anyway, McHale is slippery like teflon.

That's not really true. During Royce White's documentary with ESPN, up to his draft party, his agent communicated with White over the phone. One specific tidbit of import was that the only person in the Houston draft meeting that was really pushing for White was Mchale.

Its true, trust me.

McHale has a very specific role and has very limited authority. Morey might have told McHale he could pick between two or three players, but Morey makes just about every decision in the organization.

Adrien was pretty awesome in the preseason

No he wasn't. There were only 2 preseason games that year due to the lockout.

Adrien only played in the second one and had 2 points, 3 rebounds. Nothing special. He did have some good games in the regular season after Lin was cut for Dalembert.

Jeremy had 6 points on 3 for 3 shooting in the last 5 minutes of game 2. He tied the game on an awesome layup with 24 seconds left to play but Kawhi Leonard hit a shot with 5 seconds left.

So based on that one preseason game Jeremy had the better performance. I know he was cut because we had Lowry, Dragic and Jonny Flynn already under contract and we needed Adrien at the time because Patterson had a bum ankle. But a lot of people who watched that game could see the potential in Jeremy, pre-Linsanity.

Jeremy played awesome in Taiwan :)

Good to see him put on a show in front of the Taiwanese people.
