That Biz article almost makes it sound like there's a question about whether we'd pick up the option. We'd be absolutely **** stupid not to.

Liamuk wrote:Hope to god he'll be chandler/sanders and start for us when Jeffersons time is up, however, if he doesn't make it although I think he will, he could easily be an energy guy off of the bench with a defined defensive game and it's obvious his rebounding has gone a long way with recently getting 21, I'm sure if he was given a starting role now (not likely) he could pull down atleast 10RPG which is well up there! On top of all he did say he would lead the NBA in rebounding during his career, those who are competitive will know, never get in the way of a man on a mission.

His mindset is great. We know he goes out there and tries to destroy the opposition every night, but he simply doesn't have the skills yet. He's had the starting spot for most of his career but he's still raw as hell. He's some time away from being a legit big man. His D is improving, his rebounding is improving, but let's not jump the gun with Sanders and Chandler comparisons. He's not getting those kinds of minutes this year and he really probably shouldn't.

Ofcourse, it's how we've drafted, players with strong winning mentalities, Kemba, MKG, Jeff, Biz. It's always fun to set out realistic targets to how you think players will turn out and I'm certain the comparisons made haven't been too far fetched.

Let's just say this year, I see alot of exciting moments, especially with his post game now al Jeff is here, saw glimpses last year. Whatever minutes he gets, should be fun!

The 21 boards were awesome, but what's impressed me most about Biz in the preseason is his comfort level on the court. Night and day from previous years. He just doesn't seem nearly as rushed and frantic. Even when he isn't putting up numbers, he's been impacting the game in subtle ways. Let's hope this continues into the season.

Oh - and don't be dummies - exercise the option.

Would be a joke if they don't exercise his option

Still incredibly raw offensively but boy is he longgggggg.

Hope he pans out and becomes a solid rim protector!

Its only been 2 preseason games but my hope for Biz has been renewed with his 2 double digit rebounding games.

Clifford has asked him to concentrate on rebounding/defence and he has responded.

The fact that he has shown improvement gives me hope that he can keep growing into at least a good role player.

Your Theo Ratliff comparison might still happen Fat's

I like that Biz is finally using his full extension when rebounding and attacking the ball at the height of it's peak or decent.

It's seriously paying off. Hope he can keep it up.

Through 5 games in the preseason, Biz (22) is third behind Kemba (25) and Sessions (25) in FTA and making them at a 64% clip (averaged 52% through last year, 48% his rookie year). Encouraging.

The most encouraging part to me is that it must mean that he's catching passes in the lane & attacking the rim in rhythm

loved these quotes:

As for that impressive catch and dunk on the fast break: “That’s about trust, man,” said Walker, who threw the pass. “I’ve been with Biz since Day One, and he has gotten better at catching the ball. He believes in me, so I believe in him.”

“The more we’ve worked on that, the easier those catches become,” Biyombo said. “I have come a long way.”

I haven't abandoned the opinion that once he gets to where things are instinctive for him and he doesn't have to think, he's going to be a force. Catching quick passes is one of those type things. Your reflexes need to be in charge of that.

I am confident he's going to get there, and I hope we stick with him to where he's a Bobcat/Hornet when it happens. He's such a likable guy.

Yeah, that instinctive thing is what he's missing the most. The problem is he can't build instincts for things he needs to work on (post moves, scoring in general) unless he gets the ball consistently. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, I just hope our offense actually pretends that Bobcats in the post exist so that Biz can actually get reps.
