Taking back ben gordon

Post#1 » by kurtis48239 » Wed Oct 16, 2013 1:07 am

I was cruising thru the trades forum and saw the (char trades gordon) thread and thought about this.

Char trades-gordon + Det 1st back
Det takes back gordon and our 1st,gordon was bad when he was here but now that we need 3pt shooters out of our back court and we have great defensive bigs to cover up his play it could work out, maybe now that he is on a team that is headed for the playoffs and a revamped roaster maybe he will take on the roll he had in chi that he was supposed to bring to det in the first place. If he dosent work out hes gone next year and we have our 1st back.

Char gets rid of gordon and can use his salary to go out and sign for whoever or do whatever they want, they lose the det 1st but more than likely it will be in the high teens,so basicly your giving up a high teen pick to get rid of gordon.

I understand that we gave up ben for the cap space and all that, but it could work out for both teams.I would also give up singler and char can get a decent 2 still on his rookie contract.

So would you give up singler to get gordon and our 1st back and do you think char would be interested ?

Charlotte doesn't really need to give up Gordon considering how he's a huge expiring and they aren't exactly in the right position to use the cap space they'd get from trading him anyway. Prying a 1st round pick from Rich Cho is nearly impossible, especially when they don't gain any real value.

He might be crap but he can shoot the lights out at the 3 which is something that we are looking for.

We don't have the cap room, unless we moved CV and it would be pointless for Charlotte to make such a move. Our pick is gone - next years draft is going to suck to watch.

what i'm saying is this move isn't going to help or hurt us. he's unproductive expiring. we have plenty of those and additionally why does Charlotte do this?

There is no way that the Lolcats do that deal.

You would 1st have to trade away Drummond and filler to get that cap space to trade for Gordon. However there is no team thats 15-20 mil under the cap to help you.

Easier to get LBJ in a trade than to do this.

There is no way we could trade for him without unloading at least villanueva and jebreko.

Who are they going to sign?? Go here http://www.nba.com/freeagents/2013/ and click available and tell me who would be worth signing. Keep in mind, the "better ones" are in various teams camps.
Charlotte has no reason whatsoever to do this. Hes an expiring contract, they kind of need him, and even if by some miracle Detroit has the best record in the NBA this year...its still a 1st round pick.

I deleted a part his post here because its that pointless.

do you think char would be interested ?

They would fall off the chair, they would be laughing that hard if Joe called them up with this proposal.

This trade makes absolutely zero sense. Why would the Bobcats give up a draft pick to move Gordon mid-season, or right before it? There isn't anyone out there to go after in free agency, unless you're the last big Lamar Odom fan on Earth.

Stupid....just so stupid.

Besides the fact that they wouldn't do this deal, do we really want Ben Gordon back? I mean, assuming a more reasonable deal, I don't want the guy. I haven't been keeping tabs on the guy, but from what little I've read, Gordon has been a cancer on the team. Sure, his shooting is nice, but he doesn't offer much outside of that, and I don't want a team cancer causing trouble on this really young team. Our vets should be able to handle him, but that just doesn't seem worth it.

There was a report last season of him butting heads with the coach and just being a team cancer in general.

Do not want. Even if we somehow get our draft pick back which will be high teens since we're basically playoff ready.

Been said plenty enough already, but Charlotte would never, ever, eeeever do that deal.
