Is Deron officially ruled out? It seems to me that he's close to a return. During the game yesterday, they were showing him in drills pre-game with John Welch.

I don't know if it's on TNT, but I know it's definitely on YES.

EDIT: Coverage starts at 8pm on TNT, which is when the ceremony is supposed to begin. I'd imagine that they would be covering it too.

Yeah he's not playing.

Why are they doing it tonight? they shoulda done this thing during the regular season no? Weird that preseason is on national tv too lol.

I don't think they said that, just that he might miss the opener. He's listed day-to-day, and if he's 100% before the end of preseason, he'll play.

Kidd requested it to be done now and also he's suspended for the home opener on November 1st. Really looking forward to seeing which old nets show up to celebrate with kidd. Not really concerned about the game even if it is against the heat. The starters will most likely be done by the 3rd quarter

I don't like that he's the head coach. But he's my favorite player of all time and got me into basketball as a kid. I was never a big basketball fan growing up (baseball and, baseball) -- if it weren't for Kidd, I don't know if I would be a Nets fan or even a fan of basketball right now. It's getting dusty in here.

Going to be lots of emotion from me seeing that banner being raised. My first ever NBA game was a Nets game in 2002 against the Charlotte Hornets, and my mom bought me the grey New Jersey Kidd jersey, and he's been a huge reason why I've always been a Nets fan. Can't believe we're raising his jersey to the rafters tonight.
