Just watched that Pistons-Bulls game

KCP is solid. 18 points on 17 shots, 3-4 from downtown, 7 rebounds

I love how he hustles for rebounds and on defense

Wasn't a Kelly Olynyk fan, but boy he can play. Very cerebral player and high basketball IQ. I just don't think he'll be the next Dirk like Tommy Heinsohn thinks, as well as some other posters here who are too afraid to admit they think the same.

he plays REALLY hard.
i see him being something like klay thompson and danny green. not a brilliant ball handler, and isnt terrific at the rim, but a guy who offensively lives on his jumpshot, and is a terrific on-ball defender. will be a very solid starting 2 guard.

I like KCP's hustle and defense. No where near sold on his shot.

LMAO. The next Dirk? He'll be lucky to be a regular starter for most of his career.

Anyway, I just came to post this:

Celtics got a good Brazilian big man this time around.

Olynyk has ridiculous talent.

Also - the Cavs had a full practice that day (not sure what Mike Brown was thinking) so a person like AB in poor condition will look like crap. In all honestly - the entire team looked gassed. Lets hope they can turn it around coming against DET. I will be at the game on Sat against Indy so it will be my first time seeing Bennett up close

Here's what Mike Brown was thinking:
These are the kinds of nights, Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said, when his team must learn to rise above the fatigue, fight through the sore muscles and weary minds, and find a way to overcome it all. He's not going to let up anytime soon.

"I'm going to keep pushing them and hopefully they'll keep responding," Brown said. "For me, training camp is a time to be uncomfortable. When you have guys who are uncomfortable I want to see who is able to be in a foxhole when it's really, really tough. ... I want to see guys fight."

So far this preseason the Cavs have practiced hard before each game. It was clear that Browns idea was to push them especially those that aren't in good condition (Bennett).

Have to give an And1 to any kind of rocky training montage.

Regarding KCP...

He definitely has a long way to go on his handle.

His shot needs work, as he isn't even consistent with his setup and release. It CAN look beautiful, but it an also look like garbage.

He is, however, terrific at the rim already. Explosive leaper and fast as hell.

Defense looks really good. REALLY good.

Better than I expected, but not in the way I expected. I think Cheeks is going to bury him for a while, mostly because the team needs backcourt shooting and KCP doesn't have it so far. He's basically playing like a mini-Josh Smith, which would be fine, except we're already playing regular Josh Smith. :-(

He started really slow shooting the ball in summer league aswell, and then started to put up nice numbers. He is a streaky shooter, i could see him getting on a role in the last few preseason games.
Cheeks really doesnt have a choice. Stuckey broke his thumb, and jennings has problems with his wisdom teeth. Leaving only bynum, billups and siva as the only other guards. And billups the only one of them who can actually play shooting guard

C'mon, we both know the roster. Singler can play the 2, Chauncey 1/2, Bynum 1, and Siva 1. I certainly hope KCP gets 20 minutes with Stuckey and Jennings both hurt, but both will be back in early November at the latest.

KCP's gonna get buried.

Waiters is out tonight for the Cavs so Karasev is starting (Jack is out as well). This should be interesting. We've only seen him in spot duty so far.

Good games for Karasev and Bennett.
Karasev 4-7, 10 points, and a disgusting between the legs pass.
Bennett 4-7, 12 points

10 and 11 in 22 minutes for Adams tonight. Time for Scott Brooks to swallow his pride and seriously consider making the rook his starting center. Ok, that's asking for too much, but 15-20 minutes per game isn't.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

To be fair, that's not saying a lot, but Adams, at just 20 years old, already looks like a serviceable NBA center...which is pretty much all they need at this point once Westbrook is back.
