Bennett lookin like the next Melo out there. Handles don't matter when you just post and shoot threes. He is probably gonna be a nice player. made no sense when people were comparing him to zach randolph or thomas robinson. dude is an athlete AND skilled

just now watching the replay of the cavs magic game - bennett just scored 9 straight in the 4th.
two post up, fade-away jumpers
one dribble drive pull up step back jumper
one 3pter

4-for-4 over that stretch, 6-for-7 in the quarter overall.

purple patch or sign of things to come?

I'll side with a "sign of things to come" because that's Anthony Bennett's game. He's a streaky scorer that scores in spurts

I'll get excited for him once he does stuff like this in the regular season on even a slightly regular basis. Don't get too excited too quickly.

Hopefully Bennett becomes a beast, can never get bored of someone sinking spinning fadeaway dirkesque shots all game, bit suprised he shot the 3 so well late in the game, didn't think he had consistent range. If all pans out, Bennett vs MKG matchup looks too interesting.

FINALLY!! hoopshype gives me the top 50 players in Hornets history. I will use bball-ref for this one since i want to make sure i have my list as accurate as possible. I might even do my top 20, instead of 15.

http://hoopshype.com/galleries/hoopshyp ... ts-history

based on overall career with team

sad to see such incredible roster churn. thank shinn for that.

my list
1.chris paul
2.larry johnson
3.dell curry - gets the 3rd spot for combined years of service. still franchise leader in pts.
4.baron davis
5.muggsy bogues
6.david west
7.davis wesley
8.alonzo mouring - only 3 years sadly
9.glen rice
10.pj brown
11.jamal mashburn
12.kendall gill
13.elden campbell
14.jamal magloire
15.anthony mason
16.kenny gattison
17.eddie jones - only two years, but an all-star berth.
18.kelly tripucka
19.rex chapman
20.peja stojakovic
21.vlade divac - i had to get to vlade

lets see what hoopshype has...
50.robert reid
42.kurt rambis
32.scott burrell
31.lee nailon
30.bobby phills
29.matt geiger (booooo)
27.derrick coleman
26.armen gilliam
25.hersey hawkins
24.rex chapman
23.kenny gattison - no love for the tenure this man gave the hornets
22.vlade divac
21.jr reid - too high
20.eddie jones
19.johnny newman
18.kelly tripucka
17.tyson chandler - too high
16.peja stojakovic
15.kendall gill
14.elden campbell
13.jamaal magloire
12.anthony mason
11.jamal mashburn
10.pj brown
9.glen rice
8.muggsy bogues - too low
7.alonzo mourning
6.david wesley
5.dell curry
4.baron davis
3.larry johnson
2.david west - too high. if you are handing out lifetime achievement awards, then curry should be higher than west.
1.chris paul

overall, not a bad list. we had most of the players in the same area. i disagree with west too high and bogues too low and gattison should have been higher as well.

Per WT, Pistons not looking to extend Monroe? I'm kind of not surprised. I'm not as high on him as a lot of people are.

I hope they trade him for a draft pick and drop to the 11th seed in the east, perfectly placed as the 9th pick.

I wouldn't mortgage my future on giving Greg Monroe close to a max contract if I was the Pistons either. He's nothing special, especially considering that Andre Drummond is already better & more impactful on the floor

I'd take him on a sign-and-trade for their pick back and Gordon. Tell me you wouldn't want that guy on our front court.

Isn't Monroe similar to Cody Zeller? He also isn't a good defender either.

If we didn't just draft Cody he would be worth a look. I'd rather dish out a max to Drummond but the Pistons will just match anyway

Monroe shouldn't be on our agenda now that we have Zeller. I knew his days were limited in Detroit after Drummond's breakthrough but I thought that they would at least sign him and then began looking for suitors. Personally I think it's a dumb move for them if they let him walk. They should be able to trade him for a young guard like Klay Thompson or Harrison Barnes from the Warriors if not just some very solid veteran bench depth and draft picks.

Drummond is not better than Monroe. Not yet anyway.

I understand why you wouldn't think so because it's kind of a premature statement on my behalf by saying that Drummond is better than Monroe already, but if you watch the Pistons games it's easy to see that Drummond impacts how well the they play moreso than Monroe. Even if you look at their accumulated stats, Drummond isn't far behind Monroe with much less playing time. I'm willing to go out on that limb & say that Drummond is currently a better player than Monroe is coming off this offseason

Monroe is ridiculously underrated.

No way Drummond has more impact than him although Drummond has an awesome impact defensively.

16/10/3/1/1 players are rare.

I'd trade them anything other than MKG, Kemba and our first for him.
