Anybody have an update on Alexander Guerrero?

he was going to be a Dodger and then he dropped his agent and got with Scott Boras.

should do a decent job covering 2nd and bring some pop to someone's infield.
hoping he may have signed with the Dodgers on the low and the Dodgers just don't want it to break in the middle of a playoff run.

Alexander Guerrero Rumors

Dodgers Still In Mix For Alexander Guerrero
By Zach Links [October 15, 2013 at 9:36pm CST]
The Dodgers thought they had a deal with Cuban second baseman Alexander Guerrero several weeks ago, but the pact dissolved when it was discovered that Guerrero's first representatives were not certified agents. Since then, the Dodgers have said that their previous five-year, $32MM deal was off the table, but that may have just been posturing. The Dodgers are again one of a few teams in the thick of the Guerrero talks, people familiar with the discussions tell Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.

Since the L.A. deal fell apart, Guerrero signed on with Scott Boras and the agent immediately opened the bidding back up to all major league clubs. Now, the 26-year-old is only seeking a four-year deal so that he can once again become a free agent at the age of 30. Many of the clubs in the mix for Guerrero are seeking a longer pact, but Heyman writes that the team willing to meet his asking price on a four-year deal will be the victor.

The Giants, Rangers, Red Sox, and Reds have also been connected to Guerrero in recent weeks. However, Reds GM Walt Jocketty said yesterday that he expects the Cuban to sign elsewhere and a Rangers source suggested to Heyman that they're not making an aggressive push for him. Heyman adds that it's possible the Cardinals will get involved with Guerrero this winter.

latest thing i spotted on mlb trade rumors.

I'm very interested in his services... for the dodgers. even though we lost him twice, and do dislike scott boras, i think alex wants to be a dodger, to play in LA with his fellow cuban yasiel. scott will get alex his money, but it's not my money... the guggenheim financial will foot the bill and we will have a power righty to man the second base upon mark ellis' impending release/retirement.

i think what is stalling is that after he initially signed with us, scott boras agency probably contacted and told him that they could do better, and presented a smoke and mirror to inflate his value and yet nobody else other than the dodgers are willing, and we are not raising the value. i fully expect us to sign him at equal or similar value of the original contract offer.
ehhhhh f it.

incredible signing for us man.

with BP on the move more than likely for his comments about Reds brass and Cano going for 9 figures, this deal is such a win for the Dodgers.

if he's decent...we simply win.
if he's all star or above....we're geniuses.
