Game 7- Redskins v Bears

Post#1 » by bearadonisdna » Sat Oct 19, 2013 6:28 am

Coming in the Redskins seem like a bad team. Im not one to say other wise and it would be great to avoid losing a trap game.
The Skins run a 3-4. Not sure how many of us knew that.

For the Bears Wooten will be starting at DT and McClellin at DE.

Offensively the redskins are ranked 4th ln the league.
Alfred morris averages 5.3 ypc. Roy Helu 4.4 ypc.
They have Pierre Garcon who already has over 400 yards receiving despite rg3 only posting a 80 passer rating. Fred Davis is listed as their starter at TE after being inured the last few weeks and injured all but 7 games last season. Many of us know Shanny likes his zone blocking so i wonder if thats what the Skins are doing nowadays and how we can bottle that up.

Defensively they run the aforementioned 3-4 with london fletcher in the middle. This is a unit ranked 27th in the league in yards per game.

Skins special teams are also turrible. Maybe Hester can break one loose tomorrow.

Should be a high scoring affair... turnovers/special teams play will probably decide this.

Who woulda thought washington would have the 4th ranked offense?
Going into the bye5-2 would be a lot more satisfying than 4-3. Also losing to a team thats 1-4 would really hurt our chances as contenders.

To me our bear d looks more solid than weeks past Wooten will get the start inside as will bostic. If wooten can find a groove at DT and mcClellen can at least match wootens production at DE than this D is right back in it.

This game has the potential to be amazing. This game could propel our offense into the top ten.
Defensively they get he chance to find their groove vs a 1-4 team. The D on paper actually looks kinda ok again with potential to meet some of their play in preseason. Not that it was perfect but better than what we saw in regular season.

They have pierre garcon we have two bowl corners. That type of reasoning applies to man coverage but in the cover two the safeties will be important on shutting him down deep.
With all good running backs it will have to be 11 guys to the ball. Converge and so on and so on. Ideally u would like the dline to to blow up the zone blocking scheme at the line of scrimmage.

edit: so reasonable thinking leads me to believe playing man coverage for a majority for the game would have it's advantageous aspects. Unless ur in an obvious Cover 2 situation.

Morris will have a huge game fantasy wise but it won't be enough to keep it close. 120 rushing 2 td for morris. RG3 will be contained. They have a high ranked offense but thats mostly in the second half trying to come back from a big deficit. 1 td 3 TO for RG3. Cutler will have an efficient game but nothing spectacular. 220 yards 2tds. Forte will explode, nearing 200 total yards (150 rushing and 50 receiving) with 3 total tds (2 rushing one receiving.) I wouldn't be surprised if the Skins pass rush came to life today but they won't stop the run.

Shea's loss of containment let RG3 spring that big run. Dumb play

Anderson stinks. Every week he never has a catch, but always has a penalty. I dont get why we kept him.

he's the last WR on the depth chart and we haven't had more than 3 on the field at a time yet this season. usually players on the bottom of the depth chart don't play unless its on SP

So you agree with me he does not get catches, you might agree with me he gets penalties, hopefully can agree to just cut him.

There's no point to cut him because he's going to be replaced by someone just as bad.

I dont think anyone is that bad. I think we could get someone more useful.

Our defense is just horrendous this year. Just cannot stop that at all.

This would be the game Washington decides to use RG3 the right way.
