FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

10/21/13

The Los Angeles Clippers announced today that they have waived forward Brandon Davies. The Clippers roster now stands at 15 players.
Davies appeared in five preseason games for the Clippers, averaging 3.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in 11.2 minutes of action.
Davies, 22, was a member of the Clippers 2013 Summer League team in Las Vegas, averaging 5.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in 15.8 minutes of play over five games. He was undrafted out of BYU in the 2013 NBA Draft.

I was rooting for the kid. Looks like Lou made the team. Hope he catches on somewhere.

What has Lou done though that has stood out he is prone to not finish plays more time than not on offense and cause fouls being reckless. Wanted Davies just because he had room to grow on both sides of the court and with the bigs we have off the bench a two way player would have been much needed even if needing work.

I agree that Amundson hasn't shown much in the minutes that he has played. I read awhile ago from someone with an inside source of the organization that Amundson was basically a lock to make the team. For that, I'm not surprised that Davies was cut, but still a little disappointed. Hopefully he'll play for the Jam and work his way back into the league.

Wayns can't be cut because he's injured. He'd be guaranteed for the rest of the season if he were cut right now.

Davies had a good game in the pre-season where he showed that he had some potential. He was energetic on defense and shot some nice 3's. Lou is yet to have a good game.

I'm surprised that the decision was made so soon, I thought maybe this would happen next week. I know that our last spot would come down to Amundson and Davies. I guess our need for big men made it easy for pick Amundson. Good luck to Davies, he should be able to catch on with some team.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I think this is a mistake. Amundson has little left, and Davies is a hard worker and will get better. The Clippers will probably upgrade their third-string big man anyway once they see who is available in a month or two. But Davies is the kind of inexpensive young talent that could go to the D-League, improve, and be an asset in the future. Amundson? He was never anything but an offensive rebounder and he's not as good as he was three or four years ago.

I agree lou hasnt done a lot, but neither would have played much so its better to have the bigger stronger guy to throw out there and bang around.

Davies signed with the 76ers. Very happy to see that, if there was a team that he could get his minutes with, it's with Philly
