WAS at DET Preseason Game Thread

Seriously, how many big men does Detroit have who are better than our bigs? They have 3 guys better than Nene (Drummond, Monroe, Smith) and 2 more who are about as good as Booker (Jerebko and Mitchell). The 6th, and 7th best big men on their team Harrellson and Villaneuva, are better than any other big man on our roster.

Harrington and Charlie V are pretty close.

Overall, nate, I think you're quite on point. It's comical that the Wizards didn't draft a big man and they didn't have money to even sign a guy who would have helped, like Blair.

Welp, all those wasted draft picks are really stating to kick in now. Our blind squirrel of a GM found his two nuts(lol) and pissed away all of our other draft assets. The sad part of it is, when healthy, Vesely is only the 4th worst player on the club. Maynor, Singleton, and Seraphin are all worse than Vesely and none of these guys belong in the NBA.

At Seraphin averaged 9 points per game last year and has a nice touch. What does Vesely have? Length? Maynor was good at OKC. Hasn't been the same since knee injury.

Seraphin is complete garbage. Almost every time he touches the ball its a turnover or a missed shot and the guy is a terrible rebounder for his size/position. Vesely is a better help defender, a slightly better rebounder and he knows he has no offensive game so he generally stays out of the way. Maynor so far this preseason has been the worst of the bunch. The guy is not a point guard, hes an under sized shooting guard who has some ball handling ability, no shot creating skills and is just an ok outside shooter. Temple has done a better job backing Wall up. I guess my greater point is, as others have made, this team is full of non-NBA talent and thats a problem for a supposed "up and coming" team.

I would trade Seraphin with the quickness if I could be Wizards GM for 72 hours.

That alley oop from Seraphin was the first glimpse of this new athleticism he was supposed to bring to the table after getting in shape all summer.

Man, I admit it: I swallowed that preseason kool-aid hook, line, and sinker. Other than that oop, Seraphin doesn't look any quicker or any springier than he did last year.

Vesely is scared to play this game. Seraphin just doesn't know how. I'll take Maynor over Temple every day of the week. Neither is athletic. Temple can defend some. But whatever. It's your opinion. All I know is that Eric has his head up while he's dribbling and actually looks for the open man unlike some other guards who only want their own. Sure, I'd be happy if he took one or two shots a game. (OMG Vesely just made 2 FTs. He's inching closer to Seraphin!)
