Grant Balfour will be a free agent this winter and the Oakland Athletics are expected to let the right-hander sign elsewhere.
"As difficult as it would be for the A's to let Balfour walk, it seems almost certain that will happen. This is an organization that has generally been reluctant to spend big money on relievers, who often prove to be volatile," writes Jane Lee.
Balfour had a 2.59 ERA in 65 appearances for Oakland in 2013.
