A good coach would hide a player's weaknesses and exploit his strengths. Wittman and company need to look at game tape from his Hoyas day, that's how you use him, not as a point forward, or a stretch 4. He's a natural 3.
I'm still cool with drafting of Otto as well, although on draft night I admit to being really conflicted about whether the Zards should take Porter or Noel and I'm still not sure we didn't blow it by passing on Noel. The fact that Noel is not playing this year is insigificant. If he were a Zard and they decided to sit him for the season I'd be fine with that. I think you're underestimating Zeller. He's going win the job in Charlotte not simply by default but because he's GOOD. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be rookie of the year.
As for how to use Otto, I disagree about him not being used as point forward...at least at times. I think Porter's ability to facilitate the offense as a point forward will turn out to be one of his greatest strengths.
