Rams contact Brett Favre

Post#1 » by Mamba Mentality » Thu Oct 24, 2013 8:09 pm

For all the questions about whether the Rams would call Tim Tebow after Sam Bradford suffered his season-ending knee injury, they didn't. They called a bigger-name, higher-profile quarterback.

After the team lost Bradford to a season-ending knee injury, St. Louis called Brett Favre on Sunday night, asking whether the 44-year-old retired quarterback, who is now a grandfather, would be willing to leave his farm to plow through the back half of the Rams' schedule, league sources said.

Apparently he said he'd love to play again but that he won't because of the physical (and mental) toll it took on him. The fact that the Rams are that desperate is what really got me to laugh at the report.

I realize its because of Bradfords injury, but i don't think its a stretch to say hes probably still better than a healthy Bradford at this point, they should have called earlier imo.

But yeah, he really needs to go the **** away. Unless it will annoy cheeseheads, then he should come back ASAP.

Favre was really bad his last season and that was 3 or 4 years ago. It doesn't make a lot of sense that the Rams would call him. Unless they're giving up on the season and trying to maximize profits with a sideshow.

I still don't know why nobody as called Tebow. I know he's not a "normal" qb, but he has showed he can win. A lot more than the Rams can say for Clemens or Quinn.

As for Favre pretty funny that even at his advanced age he would be a huge upgrade for that team.

Clemens is about to get eaten by the Seahawks so we'll see if they give Tebow a call after this week.

And there's a zero percent chance that Favre would be better than Bradford. Favre in his last year put up a sub 70 QB rating and had 19 INTs and only 11 touchdowns. I'm sure Favre wants to come back but he knows that he'd be embarrassed on the field.

They should give us our 1st round pick back for Kirk Cousins. ;)

Yeah honestly, I'm missing the whole Tebow blacklist right now. The Jets absolutely wrecked this guy in my mind. Trade for him, sit him behind sanchize, put him on punts, and then stupid gimmick plays. He looked awful in the pre-season for the pats, but he was blacklisted by the league long before then.

I assume the media? :dontknow:

He wasn't a good QB, but neither is half the league. Half the league didn't help lead their team to a playoff victory though. Just put him on a team with a good RB and defense.
