No brainer for Phoenix. No brainer for Wiz but in a different way.

They turned Dudley Scola brown and gortat into Bledsoe plumlee and 2 first rounders. Not a bad haul for role players who weren't in the long term plans.

3 years 43 mil for Bogut. Jesus Christ. Good for him though, hope he stays healthy.

Man I would really feel uncomfortable giving bogut a long term deal.

Good deal for the Suns. If you're going to tear down, tear it down to the studs, dig up the foundation, then start building.

I can't believe they gave him over 10 a year. His agent deserves to win an award for that ****.

3 for 43, WOW. Way to go Andrew. Not sure how he got that much. I guess cause its only 3 years maybe. If he's healthy, he's worth it but damn in the last 5 years he has averaged 42.8 games played per year. Yikes. No thank you.

Smart for both sides if he remains healthy. GS could ill-afford Bogut leaving in FA and Bogut needed the financial security.

GS have to find a way to move Lee now though. Basically a priority for them IMO.

He won't remain healthy... I don't think GS is thinking this through.

ok 3 for 36 with incentives to get up to around 43. That sounds a little better but still is a big gamble. I actually like Lee on that team and they don't really have to remove him. They have enough room for now and he is a fairly good fit there when Bogut is healthy.

Apparently its 3/36, it only goes up to 3/43 if certain incentives are met. Still though, he has to be ecstatic with that number.

Re: ATL - Gortat to Wiz trade/Bogut signs 3/$43 million!

Post#35 » by paulpressey25 » Fri Oct 25, 2013 11:50 pm

Remember, this is an extension to the $14 million he's making this year. So to translate, he's now got a 4-yr/$50 deal that goes to 4/$57 with incentives.

I would have made him play out the year because I think Bogut in a contract year would have excelled.

Bogut looks good to me.. I'm excited for him and I think it was smart of Golden State to take care of him.

Interesting, GS should have been the team dealing with Washington to dump Lee.

I'm guessing the 65 games per year bonus won't count against the salary cap as the NBA would classify that as an unobtainable incentive.

(ok, I'm done here. 8-) )
