Should Tony Mitchell be the backup PF?

I love the kid's potential but he is still too raw. I'd prefer to see him and Siva in the d-league. Just feel right now that Jonas is a better player and fit as a back-up 4. Sad to believe I just said that.

JJ is a much better player than some around here give him credit for. He's a good athlete, kills himself on the court with hustle, has decent handle and is a decent shooter. High energy is a recognized skill in this league.

Mitchell's time will come - but, not for awhile.

I haven't really seen us make moves that are sacrificing long term success for immediate gains.

These would be things like trading away promising prospects for veterans or knowingly taking on bad contracts to get a player that will help in the short term.

The closest 'win now' move Joe has done is sign players. But we would have had to use the cap space anyway and most of them are still relatively young (exception being Billups who is acting as a mentor).

This is a team still in the rebuilding phase -- hopefully at the tail end of it.

He's a classic tweener though, too slow for SF's, too weak for PF's. Jerebko's are a dime a dozen. I do feel like he is less mismatched at SF though, and it is good to see Cheeks playing him there, at least until Datome is ready to go.

We will get alittle taste of mitchell this year but for the most part he will ride the bench,spurt in d-league,and work on his game with sheed.Next year I can see mitchell shine,unless somehow we have injuries at pf and he comes in and kills it (best case scenerio).Same for siva.

What really intrigues me is bynum,he has looked good ( he usually does in the begining) but we have seen this bynum befor and then it goes down hill,if he can reframe from his ME mentality when he has good games and still play team ball and get everyone else involved,he will be really useful come playoff time.Heres hoping.
