I wish he would have gone overseas for a year.

Given how Hedo Turkoglu is still taking a roster spot shows how much The Magic think of his contract as a trade asset.

There's talk he could be re signed if Hedo is waived soon. I don't know if that's speculation or from any kind of source though...

Harkless has no say or control this early into his career... he'll be a RFA in 2017 anyway. Maxiell had a pair of Horace Grant-style protective goggles hanging in his locker. Maxiell, who underwent surgery in April to correct a detached retina, has been wearing the sleeker Bo Outlaw style of eyewear, but said in training camp that he favored the Grant and that he was working on obtaining a pair.

Price told Magic rookie Victor Oladipo that "there's nothing like your first regular season game," noting that the preseason doesn't even compare. In response, Oladipo sang the first few bars of the chorus to the Pointer Sisters' 1982 hit "I'm So Excited."

Players can do whatever they want. There is proof of this all over the league. There is always a GM willing to throw money at a player, despite whatever problems they once had. There's always a GM or a coach who thinks they can fix the problem. If next year Harkless told Henny, start me or trade me, Henny could not trade him and bench Harkless, but he wouldn't, he'd trade him, because that's how the NBA works.

Very true.

I also think Osby could be re-signed eventually this season if some trades are made.

Guys like Gortat, Howard, CP3 and Melo had leverage because they were about to become unrestricted free agents. You're going to have to give me examples of 2nd year players who forced their way out despite having multiple years left + restrictions on their contracts before convincing me Harkless actually has leverage. Remember Redick? He wanted to start and even went as far to sign an offer sheet with another team... he was ready to go, but couldn't. Eric Gordon told New Orleans straight up he did not want to be there and signed with the suns... didn't work out for him either.

That Suns-Wizards trade now seems better for the Suns since the Wizards are waiving those three players.

As for the Jones signing, I like it. We sign him and we should still have the rights to Osby. After we trade/cut Hedo they could very well sign Osby right after.

A couple of thoughts this pre-season:

It seems like Henny wants to keep Hedo as trade bait. Exactly what teams are he looking at that are wanting a huge expiring?

We are one Carmelo injury away from having 2 lottery picks in this draft. I will be hoping for a lot of NYK losses this season.

Would you trade down from 1-2 in this draft for the suns 4 1sts? Or 1-2 to Philly for protections off their pick?

That's an easy one - Royce White. Worked out perfectly for him. :D

the Wiz want to compete now, So I think this was a win win, as long as Washington makes the playoffs. With Gortat, I think they have a shot at the 6-7 seeds. (and hopefully can keep the Knicks out)

hell no you can have all draft picks u want but in the nba it doesn't matter if you don't have super star you wont win and our pick this year is best chance at getting one
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

 That guy forced his way out of the entire league. Most guys want to earn higher pay, not shorten their career.

Well Royce got a second chance and blew it. Most players will get at least a second chance. They may have to sit on the bench for a year or two but if they asked to be moved at some point they will be. Gortat was asking to leave for a year or more.

It looks like henny is going to try and trade turk later on. This makes little to no sense but maybe a team wants him once his contact is paid off? Then trade Davis and another vet hopefully.

Teams that I reckon might have an interest in Hedo later this season: SAS, Lakers, Mavs. With an outside chance for Indiana and Chicago.

We might get a late 1st or a promising 2nd round rookie.

Didn't you know that all the players we cut like Osby are going to be all stars just like Liggins, Sticks and Orton.

Osby is a shame,

We have to remember though, Hennigan has a plan or path he is following, he knows what he wants/needs. We have to have faith. Osby could have been a good compliment, however if keeping Hedo and Jones is a play for something down the line then that's what it is. If it was because we are missing something they provide then again, that's what it is. If Osby was missing something, then he needs to go work on his game and comeback strong, and I'm sure we will see him in the league again. I actually think and hope he will be kept and resigned once we make a move in the next few months. until then, lets get behind the team and organisation!

2nd rounders rarely make it in the NBA. It seems half get cut. I am not surprised when it comes to need and cap management. I was rooting for Osby because of his story, but thats the game.
