I'm bummed they cut him. He's a interesting player with a unique skill set. How many Sixers can you really say that about? If we're going to suck, which we most definitely are, I'd like us to suck in an interesting fashion.

I guess his talent wasn't worth the trouble dealing with him. In Hinkie we trust.

They are trying to rebuild a brand in Philadelphia, and not one of the Iverson variety, something more along the lines of the Spurs/Thunder. White was a walking PR disaster waiting to happen, he was fat and only entertaining in a sideshow kind of way. There are a ton of talented guys with issues out there, I don't see us going back to the John Lucas days of bringing them all in here. They gave him a chance, but the trade was all about the Rockets paying us in money and Aldemir to take him off their salary cap.

I'm far more disappointed that our second round pick isn't playing here this year. Kazemi and Wroten together would have been entertaining and given the team a tougher edge. Wroten is the kind of guy to try and develop, not Royce White.

I don't think he or anyone else is faulting the Sixers or don't understand why he was cut. But it is disappointing because he has the all the requirements to be a a great player and a Philly fan favorite. He has great skill, is strong and a bully on the court. He would have endeared himself to us if he wasn't such a headcase. It is sad to see when any young person, with such talent and promise can't get out of his/her own way. I for one hope he gets to the D-league, gets in shape and figures it all out. Until he does he'll be nothing more than a cliche.

This from a poster on theRealGM '6ers board:

..... Sixers come to St. Joe's for training camp and I witnessed his antics first-hand in the athletic center. He made the trainer's lives a living hell every day they took his weight and BMI. He would yell at them when they told him he was overweight and needed to fix his diet and had a terrible attitude towards everyone in the building. I agree he is a massive talent but, I just don't think he'll mature enough to the point of being a positive for any team to have.

Sounds like more trouble than he's worth.

The only reason I see why Royce White was waive is due to attitude problems. Other than that, I thought he wasn't that bad during the preseason. He just needs to be in better game shape, which I think he had some problems with our trainers.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

20 fouls in 94 minutes just screams that he was in no way good enough condition to play NBA basketball. That's an incredible number.

That to me is enough reason to cut the guy, since we weren't paying his salary anyway. Maybe there were attitude problems on top of that, but outside of same random message board post there hasn't been any indication that was the case.
