Jokes how white players are rated as unable to defend but they're "smart players" while black players are typically rated as athletic but don't have the IQ to make it

Deng had done a little more in his career when it came to getting his new deal but i don't think you're far off the mark.

Deng got a 5 yr / 71 million deal. 5 yr / 55 million sounds about right and puts it on the lower side of where you stated, which i think is the best result for all parties involved.

Is Batum and Gallinari better than him?

Hayward is around Batum's level. As a Trailblazer fan, I didn't think $11-12 million over the 4 year duration was an overpay for Batum (I wouldn't have wanted to pay much more though), I'm really happy we have him at that contract, so something around $11 million seems right.

You wouldn't want to go much more than that though, if you were the Jazz though.
