Going through some Gordon highlights (next mix is on him)
who else misses a healthy EJ and bully ball Blake? I know I do, just watch this and remember how fun they were.
Forget the wins, cause obviously where winning more now, but I wish Blake would still play this sort of bully ball with his improved jumpshot etc.
Through that video it brings up a stat of Blake, something like 13 straight 20 and 10 games, along with so and so consecutive double doubles. I MISS THAT BLAKE, I know he's improved and he has more support, but I wish he would go back to this sort of style
then finally, Eric Gordon, he had/has some serious skill, just watching this he looks like a top 3 SG in the league, sad how injuries can stop such talent

Re: Who else misses watching these 2?
Most of the stuff Blake still does but you can tell he has grown so much skill wise since rookie year. EJ was a beast but I don't think his health issues would of changed even if he stayed.
Kind of sucks looking at that bid every time we got close the Warriors made a run. We just did not have the coaching and overall complete direction to win as a unit.

I don't miss bully ball because it's too easy to stop in tight 4th quarters. He can still bring it anyhow-
I also don't miss EJ, only in that trading him got us CP3. But I still like him and root for him.

Re: Who else misses watching these 2?
looking back... i'm still 50/50 about the trade concerning EJ OR EB... during the time, i too woulda kept EB especially cuz EJ would command more $$$ in his RFA... but... i think with a healthy EJ, we woulda won the 'ship already =P
Clipper fan since '95!!

gotta thank God or the FSM for the outlook we have going into this year as opposed to those years.

Re: Who else misses watching these 2?
I was a huge EJ fan. I still am. It was hard to see him leave. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have Paul, but I was hoping that we could have somehow kept EJ as well. It would have made sense to part with Bledsoe at the time. New Orleans would have been getting back a promising young point guard, but it made sense financially to give them Gordon.
Blake is better now, but he really shouldered the load during that time. The last game that I recall him just owning it like he used to was the game against OKC when Paul was out. He put up 31/11/5. We lost like we used to, but it was great to see him have somewhat of a throwback game.

I wonder how prime Cory Mags would do on this current clipper team.

Re: Who else misses watching these 2?
I was never high on EG but I am a Paul fan not a Clippers fan(at least not then) so maybe I am a bit biased but so are you guys so its balanced out.
I never thought Eric Gordon would be all that even if healthy. At the best case scenario he would still be noticeably worse than a Post-Meniscus injury Paul. This guy also made Paul look like an iron man with his injury issues. He had a lot of potential as a scorer but he was noticeably inferior to even a rookie Paul in every other aspect of the game. Even without looking at things in retrospect I wouldn't miss EG at all. You guys got a steal with the Paul trade. None of the trade pieces ended up amounting too much. EG became an overpaid malcontent.

Re: Who else misses watching these 2?
EJ is one of my favorite Clippers ever and I still put a sour face when I remember the trade, even if it was an awesome trade for us and it transformed us into a very a serious team.
I think the New Orleans front office mishandled him very bad to the point he's unmotivated and just playing for himself and his contract. Which is something he never showed he would do, he had always been an unselfish and very coachable guy until he got there. They started messing with his playing time and sitting him with silly injuries to get a better pick and he got pissed off. I don't blame him.
He was on his way to be a perennial allstar and one of the best two way perimeter players in the league. I still hope he gets to the right situation and he can redeem himself. I'd love to have him back anytime.
