Any decision Jim O'Brien made during his time with the Pacers should be considered.

Pop taking Duncan out (twice) and costing the Spurs a title they had in their hands.

Vogel took out Hibbert during game 1 which allowed LeBron to get a layup.
Whats up with good coaches taking out their defensive anchors against the Heat?

THIS 1000x
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Re: Worst in-game coaching decision you've ever seen
I think Pop taking out Duncan was terrible, but the Ginobili-Neal-Green-Diaw-Splitter combo to start the 4th was just as bad. I mean the Heat had their comeback combo out there and the only possible outcome was for the Spurs to lose the lead.

1) This had no playoff/finals consequences but just based on the play itself..
2) Sam Mitchell not putting all 5 players on Kobe (81 point game) is another.

I grew up watching the Nuggets from Westhead through Issel. Y'all are coming with some weak sauce.
Maybe my Sactown brethren feel my pain.

Re: Worst in-game coaching decision you've ever seen
I guess I'm one of the few who didn't think taking Duncan out was all that bad
Miami was down by 3, so Pop could either put in (a) a rebounder (Duncan) or (b) someone else to guard the 3. Not both. He chose the latter, and it didn't work out. Bad result? Obviously. Bad decision? Only in hindsight. I have to think there are some worse than that, even if they weren't as critical.

why couldnt duncant defend bosh from three? its not like he has to worry about bosh going to the hoop...youre conceeding the 2 pointer

I was thinking of Hibbert as well, although the Duncan decision was at an even worse time.
I forgive Vogel one hundred percent though, that man is almost solely responsible for where we are now. Likewise I am sure Spurs fans have forgiven Pop by now.
Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

Seriously? Duncan is a great post defender but he's not going to catch Bosh running out to the 3-point line. That's exactly why Bosh is valuable, despite the criticism he takes.

he doesnt have to catch him. your gaurding the 3 point line, your not worrying about anything else. bosh isnt usaine bolt, he is mobile for a big but duncan can gaurd him at the 3 point line if thats all he is worrying about

Any game where the losing team needed a 3 pointer to tie or win the game and the coach of the opposing team did not tell his team to foul.

Pop taking out Duncan
Pop underplaying Diaw and overplaying Neal in game 6 and 7
These mistakes will be in his HOF montage. That's how grave they were.

Not quite on as grand of a scale, but ...
During one of the Heat-Cavs matchups in Cleveland last year, the Cavs had the ball with five seconds left, down by one. What kind of play did Byron Scott decide to run?
Wayne Ellington isolation.
Yes, Kyrie and Dion Waiters were out, but seriously ... Wayne Ellington going iso?
