Suns ranked 30th in Power Rankings...

Post#1 » by grumpysaddle » Tue Oct 29, 2013 12:03 am

http://www.nba.com/2013/news/powerrankings/10/28/preseason/index.html?ls=nbahpsplit1

Phoenix (5-2)
Pace: 102.2 (5), OffRtg: 98.9 (7), DefRtg: 91.3 (6), NetRtg: +7.6 (5)
A few days ago, the Suns at least had a Dragic/Gortat pick-and-roll to work with. But now that Marcin Gortat has been sent to Washington, it's unclear how this team is going to win games. Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe are a fun pair of guards and it will be interesting to see how the young bigs develop, but this is the new worst roster in basketball. Jeff Hornacek has his work cut out for him.
This week: vs. POR, vs. UTA, @ OKC

Suns are ranked LAST in the NBA.com Power Rankings... BELOW THE 76ers. Suns were 5-2 in preseason, and the Sixers were 2-5. I'm prepared for the Suns to get trash talked all season, no matter what they end up playing like, but worse than the Sixers? Come on...

Sixers and Jazz are certainly worse than us. Maybe even Magic, imo.

They also have the Bulls at 8, and I honestly think if Rose plays the way he has played so far this preseason he is going to make a strong case for league MVP again and the Bulls could be #2-3 in this league.

Funny how they have us last when Yahoo Sports has Sixers last and said "Philadelphia 76ers (34-48 last season): The Sixers will challenge the 9-73 NBA-worst record set by the 1972-73 Sixers."

There is no way someone is worse then Philly this year. :D

There is also very young Orlando team I expect them to do nearly the same as Suns.

For me:
26. Suns
27. Bucks (lot of injuries at the start, pretty disorganised roster atm)
28. Bobcats (bc they are bobcats...)
29. Orlando (young team with a lot to learn)
30. Philly (Do they have someone on this roster right now who can play and is not a rookie?)

Suns - maybe a lot of you are in love with Plumlee, but hell no he is not MG. I expect Suns to have big problem under the basket. Len is still far in his developement mode. But future looks promising.
Another thing... Bledsoe, Goran and Green gonna score.. but what if they don't. Big problems at putting points this IMO. It's a huge problem when you play without true SG and Goodwin also looks like a student in a class full of professors. (Yeah I know he's still a kid right now).

Grumpy I see you are in Wonderland after Brown is gonne :D Haha :) Guess what.. Wizards didn't want him to :D I feel sory for someone who picks him up. Marshall aka 'Justin Bieber' is also out of work :D He can now do the only thing he done well in the NBA, putting useless tweets on the internet.

Cheers guys, good luck at first game of the season!

Man, that's tough. I don't know why all the hate for Orlando. To me, they have more of a put together team than we do, especially after the trade! Don't get me wrong, I love our pieces right now and think we have a bright future, but Orlando has an equally good young roster and maybe even a little more upside.

I'd say we're bottom two, us and Philly. The Jazz don't look as bad as everything thinks either. They have young but experienced guys that are ready to have breakout years in Favors and Hayward.

Heres the thing though, even if those 4 teams you have below the Suns are debatably less talented, they all play in the same conference and will be playing each more and the other soft East teams. If the Suns are, as many predict, the worst team in the West then its hard to imagine they will finish any higher than the 3rd worst record overall.

Stick around mate - always a shame when fans of a player come and then go.

Except for that guy when we got Stromile Swift...that was nauseatingly frustrating!

NF33iH stuck around when Hill left...but he had to otherwise he'd get a beatdown from SDU and the other Aussie mob haha

Damn it......I was about to say except that loser NF33IH, we really wish he would just piss off.

In fairness, I had always liked the Suns, especially from their SSOL era and often caught up with SDU for Suns games even though they weren't "my" team. I did say from the get go that once GH signed as a Sun you would all be stuck with me regardless of where he went, if ever.

Also, it's easier to stay with a team once your favorite player is all but done, which SDU an vouch for with Penny.

I know we won't be good this season, but I just don't see us being as bad as everyone is predicting we will be. I'm looking forward to this season. It will be a fun season watching our youngsters develop. Unlike last season, this team will actually try and give it their all.
